We're very pleased to announce the addition of an exciting new service - Microdermabrasion (an intensive treatment using
special micro crystals to deeply exfoliate and immediately improve the appearance of the
skin)
Microdermabrasion is a system that allows a jet of fine, natural,
mineral crystals (Corundum Powder) to be brushed onto the surface of the skin where it
abrades dry, dead or redundant cell tissue with little trauma, but with high precision
which had therefore been unattainable with other techniques.
Microdermabrasion can be used for many different problems:
Face Care: Acne Skin, Acne Scars, Fine Lines, Wrinkles, Rosacea,
Blemishes, Dehydrated Skin, Dry Skin, Oil Skin, Broken Capillaries, Chicken Pox Scars,
Rough Uneven Skin
Scalp Care: Seborrhea, Oily Scalp, Dry Scalp, Alopecia
Body Care: Stretch Marks (Striae), Back Treatment, Sun Damaged Skin, Acne
Back Treatment, Hands
Minor Skin Abnormalities: Hypertrophic Scars, Keloids, Hyperpigmentation, Small Tattoo
Removal, Permanent Make-up Removal, Seborrheic Keratosis
What are a Micro-Dermabrasion treatments like?
With the aid of micro-crystals vacuumed
through a delicate hand piece, held at a precise angle to the skin, an aesthetician
effects a superficial skin polishing. In as little as twenty minutes this gentle abrasive
technique efficiently produces satisfying results. Treatments are applied through a course
of weekly sessions. Micro-Dermabrasion enhance skin condition and do what no other
available treatment can (without surgery) in combating the signs of aging skin. Most
importantly, it is safe to use on all skin types and colors.
Does Micro-Dermabrasion hurt?
No. The Micro-Dermabrasion peels the skin, but it is not painful and
does not require pre-treatment or topical anesthesia.
How many times does the Micro-Dermabrasion need to
be performed to achieve results?
The average patient requires between 5-9 treatments spaced 1-2 weeks
apart to see results. However, it appears that because patients do see continuing results,
many choose to have the procedure performed monthly as a maintenance treatment.
What results can you expect?
Depending on the area treated, you will notice an
improvement in your skin's appearance. Acne scars will be less obvious. Age spots and fine
lines are erased and many patients report that their skin seems to be softer, smoother and
younger-looking.
What to expect after procedure?
1. Skin
Peeling. The skin may feel tight as if exposed to the sun or wind for a while after
treatment. Some skins may peel.
2. Slight Redness & Swelling. Deeper treatment
level for more blemished or thicker skins. The skin will appear slightly red and swollen
from a few hours to a few days for more sensitive skins. Some skins may peel.
Are there any risks with the procedure?
There are minimal risks with the procedure, the most common side effect
being redness of the skin which usually is gone after 24-48 hours and easily covered with
makeup; however, men having the procedure performed are finding that the redness is minor
and short lasting.
