DRY SKIN

Dry skin looks fine, close textured and attractive when young and well cared for, but it can flake, chap, feel tight, and be fragile and is certainly a candidate for premature surface lines unless it’s well lubricated and protected from exposure to weather extremes and dry atmospheres and conditions. It’s usually the one with few puberty problems and the much envied ‘English Rose’ complexion usually falls into this category. This skin type thrives in British weather conditions but should not be out in the sun without wearing a sun block, and central heating can drain it. Invest in a humidifier in centrally heated homes or at least keep pots of water in rooms to keep up the humidity. Don’t face the day without wearing a moisturiser and go for rich, water-in-oil creams at night. Take special care of the eye area, which is always drier.
