Hi all,
I have been noticing lately (within the last few months especially) that every single time I have a pimple - even if I don't squeeze it or massacre it - it always leaves behind a scar now.
Now it's got me thinking - is it maybe something in my diet that I'm lacking to make this happen? I eat pretty healthy, drink TONS of water, and the only vitamin I take is Vitamin B6 every day.
So...I guess my two questions are:
1) Am I lacking something in my diet and if so, what? What kind of vitamin should I replace it with?
2) What can I do about the scarring? They fade with time, but A LOT of time. Something to speed up the process? I have read about lots of things, but am totally confused now. JB peels, microderm, etc.
Thank you!!! |

I had this problem when I was younger (luckily I am scar free these days). I discovered that Neosporin helped me not get scars from zits. I was getting scars from not even touching them so then when the zit was almost gone (after I attacked it with whatever zit cream I was using back then) at the very end I would put neosporin and a round bandage on it at night and when I'd wake up the zit would be nicely gone. Neosporin does advertise being able to heal quicker than without any. Well thats what worked for me. Oh you could try some vitamin E from the capsule, just poke it with a pin and rub some on, that works well too! |

vitamin E caps are amazing for scars. I got two large burns on my left arm by my wrist area last year and slathered vitamin E on it religiously for a week (every 2 hours)...it was a rather serious burn and it healed without any scars whatsoever. In the past anytime i burned my skin it was there for good..So i definitely recommend trying that. |

your skin scarring can also be a part of ageing, your skin simply doesn't rehabilitate as quickly anymore...bummer, I know |

I never had a spot left from acne until I was in my mid-thirties. Now I have hyperpigmentation problems .
Pele, I have heard that taking alot of vitamin C will help in healing skin, but I don't have first hand experience. . .
Neosporin does helps me for new acne, and Juice Green Apple Peel is fading the old marks, but I have a question too:
Does anyone know if copper peptide products help prevent marks from acne?

Pele-
Sorry this is a bit late, I just saw your post after I was looking up some information on the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel.
For the last few days, I have started taking additional 60 mg of zinc (I also take a multivitamin supplement and EFAs) and have noticed a big difference in the reduction of redness/inflammation in my skin any place it is inflamed, including left-over red marks. I had a number of these on my arms leftover from Keratosis (and a few stubborn ones on my face). And, just last night I finally tried that Green Apple Peel on my face...the results for me were pretty dramatic. Until the past couple years, I never remembered getting such bad red marks from blemishes or cuts, but then all of the sudden it seemed like I was taking too long to heal! I got 2 of those sample jars of the green apple peel for about 15 dollars (including shipping) online. Today I am so happy with the results from the combination of zinc and the apple peel. Zinc is pretty cheap too.
There are some other parts of my routine that I know contribute to the improvement of the skin, but these 2 were the best combo of immediately noticeable/cheap. (Although the full size jar of that peel is $39, the samples are like $4.75 each)
I hope this helps you! |

Well, I have started taking Vitamin C, Vitamin E and I already take Vitamin B6. I was actually thinking of adding Zinc as well as I was reading (b/c of another post on this board) about having copper toxicity, and I was curious about it and wonder if I might have it. Zinc apparently helps with it.
I also bought a sample of juice beauty GA peel, so i'm veerrrrrry slowly testing it on my skin to see what happens, especially over two scars I have over my top lip.
We shall see what happens - and I will report back! |

I read that you are supposed to take zinc and copper at different times of day, so I take my multivitamin at a different time than the zinc. I also cut the pill in half so I'm not taking it all at once. I also tried vitamin C but did not notice a difference. I hope you like the GA peel! Good luck, Pele! |
