I have been searching the site for feedback on IS CLinical. I went to Skinterra and they recommended this:

Morning:
1. IS Clinical Cleansing Complex ($36.00)
2. IS Clinical Pro-Heal Serum ($120.00)
3. Innovative Skincare SPF20 Moisturizing Sunscreen ($33.00) or Innovative Skincare SPF20 Sunscreen Powder ($40.00)

Evening:
1. IS Clinical Cleansing Complex
2. IS Clinical Active Serum ($120.00)
3. IS Clinical Hydra Cool Serum ($85.00)

As you can see from the prices, it's very expensive! IF it works for my skin, I am fine with paying a lot. However, since it is known to be strong stuff, I am wary about buying without trying. I can't find a place to get samples without first purchasing something first. I don't want to buy one product and use it alone.. I would rather be more effective and use most of the recommendations together.

So my question is, can you guys share how these products worked for you? Please also share if you didn't get the results you wanted! And try to include your skin type and age, if you can. THANK YOU!

I am 26, asian, fair skin, oily t-zone with enlarged pores. My cheeks and eye area get dry. I usually get occasional break outs around my period, but lately I have been breaking out along my chin and jawline. Some of these have been cystic and don't come to a head. The past couple weeks I also have these largish bumps on my cheeck that look like very clogged pores, but they don't get bigger or go away.

I really like their Poly-Vitamin Serum but find that for some reason their Active Serum doesn't work for me as well as other products do. The Hydra Cool was nice also as was the Pro-Heal (which you may not like if you don't like a slightly more substantial texture in C serums). HTH

When I started out (EDS was not carrying yet), the skin care institute lady was ever so kind, and she did send samples, so you might try there. Because of the startup cost she made some recs to keep it at a minimum. She suggested your regular cleanser (Cetaphil for me), proheal (which it sounds like would best suit your skin) in the am and hydracool over it, followed by your regular sunscreen if you use it. Then your inexpensive cleanser in the pm, followed by the hydracool. After you try that and determine that your skin is compatible, try adding in the Active followed by hydracool at night. She gave me samples of the Active, Super, Poly and firming complex along with the eye complex. I liked the eye complex and the Active (although I can't use it very often). The Poly and Firming were way too much for me. I had Skinterra do a skin analysis also, it it pretty much read like yours. I thought it was a bit too many new products to try until you know if you are going to like the line (which I think you will!!). That's why I went with theskincareinstitute, no pushing. Good luck!

I have been using the Proheal on half of my face only for almost 6 weeks. I am 38 with oily, very sensitive, dehydrated and acne prone skin. Here is my impression.

I don't mind the texture of the Proheal at all even though I have oily skin. I have seen a reduction in my forhead "elevens" since using the Proheal (see my recent post on this). It seems like the Proheal is causing me to breakout more as I have significantly more pimples on the Proheal side of my face than I do on the non-Proheal side of my face. I can't really see any other differneces between the two sides of my face. A few days ago I had my husband examine my face (he does not know what side I am using the Proheal on) and he said that the Proheal side looked a little nicer up close but could not pinpoint exactly how. When I asked him what side he though I was using the Proheal on, he picked the wrong one. Probably because it has less pimples.

If I decide to continue using Vitamin C serums I probably would not order the Proheal again and would try another brand of either C or C+E serum. I am not convinced that the IS Clinical stuff is worth the money!

I have used other Vit-C for about 3 months and switched to ISC Super Serum 3 weeks ago. I did not see that much improvement after I switched. BUT I started to use Active Serum 10 days ago and OMG, I saw "good" improvement after 2 days. My skin tone is getting better and my sun spots faded a little. I did not know what I was thinking because I bought Active Serum about 4 months ago but never thought about it would make such a big improvement.

I love the ISC Super Serum, but the Active did not do anything for me! Just about the opposite of macrisis!

There are a number of voluminous threads on the efficacy of various elements of the IS Clinical line. I'm way too lazy to start repeating stuff I've said before, but if you go to the upper right hand corner, you'll see the third item is a search function. It works quite well and you'll have more reading than you bargained for!

By the way, you can usually pick up samples on eBay.

knowing your skin, you should try katee's cocktail of the Firming Complex over Active. huge wow!!!

I've used the Super and Active Serums. I didn't notice anything special with the Super..I used it every a.m. and finished the bottle. It wasn't bad at all, just prefer PSF 20% C serum, which I had used previously and will use again. The Active Serum, though, really seems to make my skin looked more refined and definitely helps tighten up my pores. I've been using it for a couple of months; 3x a week at nighttime. hth Very Happy

It seems like most of the women who use IS Clinical are in their 40s-50s?

I am 26... am I too young to use such active products?

Also, I have never used Vit-C or retinol before. I started using a BHA about 5 months ago because my chin was starting to break out.

My skin isn't really that bad... but there are things about it that bug me. Like some sun spots/freckles, pores could be smaller, texture could be more smooth, and my chin area has been sort of bad for the past.. 6 months or so.
I would like to be able to not wear make-up, or at least just wear a bit of light powder.

skim,

i don't think you're too young to start with ISC or other actives, but there is absolutely no way any *one* of us will be able to tell you if it's going to work for you. as you can see, everybody has a different experience with the products -- and that goes for *any* line! what can break out one person, may clear another; what shrinks someone's pores, may enlarge another's. your best bet will be picking up samples somewhere, paying for them on ebay if necessary. and, whatever else you do or do not do, find yourself a really good sunscreen and use it every day!

skim, I think you have asked a very difficult question because even skin types that appear to be the same, can have quite different reactions.
In my case, I used Proheal for over 12 months and loved it. Then, for some reason, it caused me to break out.
I am beginning to believe now that either my skin changed or the Proheal was not compatible with other products I had started to use. For me personally, I find the ISC products a bit strong on my skin as I don't like anything that stings and Proheal, Super and Active all had a short stinging effect.
I don't want to put you off using this line as it may work very well on your skin. I think the users who have had the most success are those who have used only ISC products and not mixed them with anything else. There are other lines that my skin likes better so I have moved on. Good luck.

Bushy, you are on the money for me. When I used just Proheal, Hydra and Active, no probs. As soon as I tried the JB Antioxidant Serum and then the new Prevage (plus other assorted samples and MMU), wham!! Breakouts and overly sensitive skin with a rash. Then I had an IPL and had to switch to Kinerase only. Boy I missed my IS Clinical. Tried to go back to Proheal but the new one I got in April drove my skin over the edge and it burned. Used just the Cetaphil and Obagi Gentle Wash with the Kinerse for 4 weeks like the IS rep and lab asked to give my skin a break. Also restarted my TNS recovery Complex. Now I am easing in my old samples of the Proheal (which I saved and used for travel) and alternated that with the Super Serum in the morning. My skin is starting to look normal again and the glow is coming back. Easing in the Active every third/fourth night. I have finally learned my lesson, don't mix (other than the TNS) and stick to what works. I don't think you are ever to young to start the VIT C. My son and his girlfriend in college use Proheal and she has gorgeous skin! But (gasp), she's a sun worshiper (we love her anyway!). We won't use her for sacrifice!!Laughing

There was another post regarding the proheal serum in which I did make a few comments yet I can not seem to find it?

I have been using it now for a month and must say regardless of what the company has said they definitly have altered the formula in some way.

When I first started using it, my skin really went wild. Only on the forhead and my right cheek. After two weeks it looked like it was clearing up, and ofcourse I was very pleased, but I think my enthusiasm was short lived. Both my forhead and my right cheek are still pimply. I am NOT very pleased as this is an expensive product. When I used it before it cleared my skin up very nicely, and kept it that way. So I broke down and bought the one products I KNOW will get the acne off my face: Bioelements AcnePlex - great clearing produt but very drying to the skin.
It seems that the proheal serum does not inhibit the infection in the acne, as the effected areas of my face just keep getting reinfected and continuously break out.

The rest of my face which did not break out looks really nice and glowy. Once the Acne plex kicks in I will continue with the Proheal serum to see if it does maintain my clear complexion - when ever it finally clears up!

I also just wanted to note that there is a really great thread on Mineral make up and Bismouth Oxide (sp). A must read for MMU users. After reading that I have decided to switch to True Cosmetics MMU from JI as I have notice more congested pores when I wear the JI makeup daily.

Like katee, I have had great results with the ISC line. I own everything and alternate things as the seasons change. For instance, I HATED hydracool when I sampled it in the winter. Now that it's summer, I LOVE the stuff!

Oh, I'm past my mid-50s. Confused But gosh-darn-it, my skin looks great.

I too have had great results with Super and Active.....at one time I was getting a bit over confident and stopped using the Super and noticed a change in my skin....gone back to Super and loving it. Though, I still do not like the Hydracool. Just ordered the Polivit..just to give my skin a rest. ISC is a very good line....just get some samples, first.

I took the plunge and I just ordered the cleanser, pro-heal, active, and hydra cool.

I got a 15% discount from skinterra for being a first time customer, so I saved $50, at least.

I hope I get some good results! I live in the midwest but I've been visiting family members in Asia for the past 2 months and my skin has suffered for it. I've been breaking out on my cheek, and I have never broken out there before. This is in addition to increased chin breakouts. I am standing in a wedding in a month and I want my skin to be glowing, not red and pimply.

I'll update on how it goes! Thanks for the feedback!

Hi I just received a recommendation from skinterra to use ISC products. The problems I have are that I haven't used AHA products for a very very long time so I can't remember whether I am sensitive to AHA. My skin does turn ugly - red and a bit swollen if I try to manually extract my blackheads etc but it will return to normal fairly shortly.

Is the ISC Active Serum and Super Serum very strong? I have combination skin with oily T section.

Does anyone know where I can get samples of ISC products? There doesn't seem to be any on ebay at the moment and I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars and find out that I'm allergic to it.

Have anyone tried ordering ISC products outside of USA? I am living in Australia and really want to try ISC since I've seen all your rave reviews.

I have tried several of their products:

Super Serum - as an alternative to ProHeal. Nothing special IMO. I like it but no vast improvement in my skin or any change. My skin looked beter with Cellex-C/B5 complex combination, which is what I will go back to after SS is finished.

Active Serum - again, I cannot pinpoint any vast improvement in my skin, but I have not been using it for the last month. I only use it a couple times a week anyway. Guess you need nightly for a big difference.

Cleanser- I had a sample, but one use was enough to tell me it was WAY to drying for me or hubby to use.

I used it nightly and wasn't impressed. But I do really like the Poly-vitamin serum... It's still on my looong list Smile

The Active is reported to be 8% glycolic, 2% salicylic, 2% lactic, which is very mild actually.
