2x Multivitamin (GNC Ultra Mega Green)
2x Milk Thistle
2x Evening Primrose Oil
I used to take Centrum, but read on a bodybuilding site (I don't bodybuild, though) that a lot of the commonly found multivitamins don't use very good ingredients. Like they use forms of vitamins that aren't easily absorbed. Anyway, I switched to GNC, but am always on the lookout for a better multivitamin.
Does anyone have any experience with Juvenon?

Here's something interesting about vitamins but not human skin... My dog has a chronic skin problem on her ears where they form huge thick scabs which crack and bleed. I've taken her to so many doctors, and she's had so many meds, both topical and oral. Nothing helped one bit. I was having to keep them bandaged all the time.
One day I was shopping for her and saw some skin vitamins for canines. I bought them just to try. Her ears stopped bleeding almost immediately and the skin began to turn pink. She's been taking them about three or four months, and they're almost as good as new! Vitamins really helped her, so I guess they're important for us too. Her's have Omega 3, vitamin A and vitamin D. I also give her some E every once in a while, but I try not to overdose since it's not water soluble.
Don't know what that little tidbit of information is worth, but I was amazed. |

RMB--u reminded me about multivitamins, oops i ran out a year ago and never restocked.
i have heard that tablet vitamins aren't as good as capsules. reason being your stomach has to break up the tablets and it doesn't always do a good job at that, and capsules are more dissolvable for the opposite reason. i used to take the GNC capsules for women but i am sure there are much better brands out there. just don't know what as of yet. never heard of juvenol though, sounds interesting.
Tosca-- my dog has skin problems too, though not on his ears, but the areas between his paws. the skin there is raw and sensitive from his chewing. i try to get him to stop but i know he's just relieving his pain. poor thing. which brand did you pick up for your dog? i am wondering if i can just have him take a vitamin e softgel for humans.
vonstella--what did you want to know about royal jelly? i read quite a bit about it a year ago before i took the plunge and bought 500 capsules expensive, but i got a deal. |

Vonstella, I have tried Royal Jelly and I didn't find that it did anything for me - nothing at all.
I just ordered HA supplements and am looking forward to trying them.
I keep raving about Silica as a good supplement for hair and nails. It gives such a glossy shine to the hair. Everytime I use the Silica I start getting complements on my hair being so shiny (well not right away since it takes about a month to have an effect) but it is a good beauty supplement. |

Skincareaddicted, I use the 3V brand for my dog. I believe they're called skin caps. I've tried another brand, but it wasn't as helpful. You can give them human vitamins. That's the type of E I give her. I also give my cat E, B, and Salmon Oil. - Great results on all. |

leeleedeedee, what is silica, and where do you get it? |

Tosca, Silica is derived from the herb Horsetail and it has excellent properties for hardening the nails, making the hair strong and glossy and keeping the skin supple.
It's sold at every health food store.
Personally, I have used this supplement for many years because of it's great results. |

Andrew Lessman has very good high quality vitamins, with no fillers. They are expensive though. |

The best supplements are whole food supplements. They are made out of real foods, not synthetic chemicals which your body has a hard time dealing with and are often completely useless.
Go to Whole Foods or a good health food store and ask them about whole food supplements.
One of the best brands is "Innate"...

"Garden of Life" is another high quality brand. |

Sorry, Skincareaddicetd! I just saw your post. I'm considering switching to human vitamins, since I've had luck with them for my cat. They are a higher grade, so they may be a good bit better. I'm just afraid of a relapse if I don't get the combo right. |

I get good results from Murad's Collagen Builder Supplements.
Also, Aloette has an internal supplement that is quite good as well.
I use Heliocare supplement daily as extra protection from the sun. |

MegaFood is another excellent whole foods supplement. I started up taking them again about 1 month ago, and my nails are growing a lot and not breaking. I think the Bone Essentials are what's doing it.
A "Yes" from me also on silica and HA. I like Cellfoods liquid silica and Nature's Way Hydraplenish.
I also started taking CoQ10 again a couple of days ago, and it's like "20 years younger in 2 days." I'm sure it will have an effect on my skin, but really, who cares as long as I have *energy*? I actually ran along the trail (to escape a screaming baby ), and then climbed a huge hill. If the CoQ10 doesn't directly affect my skin, the increased exercise certainly will.
My "No" is kelp extract. Taking the recommended 4 drops/day gave me breakouts. |

For me - zinc, MSM, potassium, selenium, magnesium, B6, E, C, and Omega-3 or Primrose oil capsules. I have adult acne problems (in addition to aging problems ) and supposedly this combo is supposed to help quite a bit with that time of the month cystic acne that can flare up. It does seem to help a lot. |
