Hi Ladies,
I've used another brand of DMAE and I'd used it around my eyes and my entire face. The effect was quite ugly as my dark circle was much darker and my skin around my eyes were very dry. So much so that I have deep wrinkles and what looked like chicken skin!
I did use eye cream after DMAE. Does any of you have that experience with Candessence DMAE?
Thanks! |
Hi - I've had the same experience as you with three other brands of DMAE, but I'm going to try this one because another user who has the same problems said this worked for them. The DMAE serums I tried before were the amine form which requires an alkaline base and it can be a bit punishing on the skin. Quite a lot of people find it dehydrating. The Candessence one is the bitartrate form. Not sure if the base is neutral or slightly acidic - either way it sounds better for me. Anyway I'll post back when I've tried it. It might work better for you if you've only used the amine type before.

Hi Molly - yeah...the DMAE product I tried was the amine type and probably just too dry for me. My eyes were in such bad shape after using it that my colleagues and friends asked me if I was down with a flu/cold!!
Anyhow, I'd ordered Candy's Dec special also plus some of her lotion and scrub! I can't resist as I read so so many positive and rave reviews on her products. Now, I'm waiting for the products to arrive just like you as I stay in Malaysia! |

Mcwccj, I'm using Candy's 6% around my eyes and haven't had that problem, but I think it's never a bad idea to add something moisturizing over the top of it. I think if your skin's a little dehydrated, DMAE can accentuate that - I may be off there, and if so, sorry! I usually just use my emu oil on top because I haven't found an eye cream that works better than it for me. |

Hi Tosca, the skin below my eyes are quite dry to begin with. I'd tried putting emu oil after dmae, but it's just too oily for me. I also have problem with milia if I'm not careful. Hoping to combat the dryness, I'd ordered a sample of PSF super hydrating eye treatment and after using it, I got puffy eyes! Sigh...now I'd ordered the eye serum and cream from Ice Elements as well as that 100% pure coffee bean. YES, I'm desperate!!! |

I used Candy's 6% DMAE under my eyes and top it off with the Cellcosmet eye ultra contour gel and don't have a problem - but I have oily undereye area. |
