Yen, good luck to your treatment!
I also have acne problems, but I am not sure what kind of vitamin I should take, so I just eat more fruit and vegetables.

I have had pretty bad cystic acne, so I put myself on a strict vitamin regimen that seems to be working:
Daily Prenatal Vitamins (not preggers, but gives you a little extra of everything)
Biotin
B-Complex
Zinc w/ copper supplements
Flaxseed Oil
It seems to be working pretty well. Instead of getting huge painful zits all the time, I only get tiny ones that disappear quickly. Plus, I have less anxiety! |

Eating more fruit and vegetables definitely help. I also drink a lot of water and cut back from refined sugars, dairy (it breaks me out), wheat, etc.
I take the following for Acne:
A-Mulsion by Genestra (one drop in my breakfast daily)
Zinc Citrate 15mg by Natural Factors (3 times daily with food).
You can take up to 60mg of zinc per day. |

I don't eat a balanced diet, so I think my body will actually use all the supplements I'm taking. I cut out alot of the single pills by taking a prenatal vitamin:
Stuart Prenatal vitamins
MSM
Biotin
Hyaluronic
When I remember: Omega 3-6-9 |

I just wonder if you all know why you take the vitamins or supplements you are taking. I don't know about some of the ones I take, and other than those I listed, I even have more in my medicine cabinets. Some of them I think I bought for immune system. I have one called Performance Specialist, and it has Cordyceps listed. I was like "What the heck are these?" I also got Colostrum. What on earth? |

What a great question! I sometimes wonder if I'm taking too many, but when I left my supply of vitamins over at a friends and had to do without them for 2 whole weeks, I could tell the difference! The difference I could tell was in the lack rather than anything else.
Long list - taken in the am.
Alive!! Multivitamin/mineral
Complete EFA [omega 6,8,9]
400 IU vitamin E
2 vitamin C tablets [don't know the dosage ]
Calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement
Folic Acid
Acidophilia [non-refrigerated kind]
Alfalfa tablets
This sounds like a lot, but I'm even thinking of introducing evening primrose oil and recently heard of yet another omega I'd never heard of, omega 7? |

Cherisse--perhaps you could take a multi and cut out a few pills from your life?
I am currently taking:
- a multivitamin
- Zinc (for acne)
- Hyaluronic acid (lip plumping)
- MSM (it supposedly helps skin heal faster)
- a vision enhancement pill (I think it actually only helps preserve vision rather than enhance it)
- Flaxseed oil or Omega 3 |

I know how you feel. I always feel like I'm eating a meal of vitamins. It's the kind of meal that I would never get fat on since I would never crave it. I actually hate my vitamin times, so I wait till the last minute of the day, prior to bedtime. |

I actually cut out the multi. Well, I ran out and haven't bought more because I'm trying to finish up some other vites first. hehe I think most of my interest in vites/supplements are in the antioxidant arena, and anything that is supposed to be good for fighting the wrinkles. grrrrrrrrr I just started back on MSM again since I read on this board that it's good for hair and lashes. I am going to buy the California Naturals hair vitamins someone here recommended, too, since it helped her grow her hair fast. I need to grow my hair fast because the Japanese Straight Perm I got was too damaging. |

Can you tell me what's in the vision enhancement pill? I just started delivering newspapers at night and my vision is less than what I thought it would be. I have a major headache at the end of the route. Thanks. |

i changed my supplements a bit but here is what i take daily:
1) multivitamin
2) coenzyme q-10 (for my skin and heart)
3)oat beta glucan 1000mg (for immune system and skin)
4)HA 40 mg for my joints (they no longer creak during exercise) and lips of course
5) royal jelly a couple times a week for my skin and overall health
i only take vitamins that in are in capsule form. i stay from tablets as they are hard and don't break down in your stomach properly and may pass through like that. |

Cherisse the hair pill I take the red pill from wal-mart,its only 5 a bottle but then they also offer one by Rexall that covers hair, skin and nails so I take that too, switching off every other day.Oh,if you are worried about the liver I got that covered because I take Liveraid to flush out my liver, I also skip one day a week on my vitamins so I dont O.D. I also drink 2 Tblsspoon of brewers yeast and 2 tablespoons of lecithin granules everyday and I also drink a protein shake. I had read somewhere that really gives you glowing skin so why not.The red hair pill is called California Natural Hair and the Rexall is just called Hair Skin and Nails(3000mg of biotin with 28 key ingredients including antioxidants) Both from walmart. |
