Winnie or anyone who uses the Janson-Beckett line...
I received my alphderm CE, Prep, and Okusil. (The prep is very sticky!) I put all of them on and I don't think I used too much of any of them but here are my concerns...
- my face looks quite 'unnaturally' shiny
- my face feels like I have something 'on it' and when I rub my hand over my face little particles come off. Almost seems like dead skin but I think it's the product rubbing off. I don't wear make up but if I did I'm sure it would not stay on overtop of this stuff.
- my skin looks more red. i don't have roscea or anything so I'm not sure what that is about.
help! Do you think I put too much on? I don't think so but could that be it? Any other tips or reasons why this could be happening? |

lily,
 The Prep is so light and should soak right into your skin. I use about 1/2 pump for my whole face and less then that for my neck. The Prep should not be sticky at all. I am on my third bottle of Prep and I use it under any product I use. Once it is on you would never know I put anything on my face.
As far as the ADCE: I wait until the Prep is absorbed and apply approixmately the same amount for the face and neck as the Prep. It totally soaks right in for me. I could put a moisturizer over it and not get shiny and I have an oily T zone.
Did you exfoliate before using the line?????
As far as redness. When I first used ADCE I could feel somewhat of a tingling feeling to my face. After several uses I know longer felt that.
As far as balling up on your face I have never heard of that. All I can think of is you are using too much. But, even then it should not happen.
My advice: Call JB and ask to talk to one of the facialists. They are really helpful and will guide you more. I am totally puzzled as in the four/five months I have used this product I have never experienced such a thing.
Are you using anything else under or over it that might be causing this?

I just noticed that you were talking about trying/using CP's. If you are using Copper Peptides this could be an explaination. |

Thanks for your post.
I am not using copper peptides yet. (Haven't received them yet and plan to use them only at night and Jason Beckett during the day.)
So I just did the whole routine all over again. (No I did not exfoliate or anything before hand the first time.) This morning I used my vit C serum and let it dry before applying the prep. This time I didn't apply any Vict C serum and I don't have a "shiny" face nor does the product 'peel' off if I wipe my hand across. Weird. I waited until the Vit C serum was dry but maybe I didn't wait long enough? Do you use a Vit C serum underneath? (I feel much better now that I'm not getting that "balling" of the product but I thought you could use Vit C underneath? When I use the Vit C with hyaluronic acid and mositurizer I don't have that problem...)
Do you use moisturizer overtop? (It does seem like I could use a bit of extra moisture on top.)
I still have that slight redness- I'll keep an eye on that. Maybe my face just needs to get used to it?
I will call Janson Beckett if the redness does not go away as that is my only concern now... |

I don't use Vit C. In my case I feel the JB 5% is enough for me. I would not use the Vit. C for a few days and see what happens. I am glad you found out why the product was sticky and balling. That was really strange to me.
What percent of Vit C are you using? Are you new to Vit. C usage? Vit. C alone can cause irritation if too strong. Then, if you add a product over it that has 5% C this might be the reason for your redness.
Don't exfoliate until the redness subsides!!!! |

I use vit C and ADCE (and have used the prep before as well, though not anymore). My mum uses all three. I have not had any problems in the past and my mum has not mentioned anything. If I may just point out though, you should use the prep before you use the vitamin C. Which vit C serum are you using? My mum uses Vivier 20%. |

I have been using the Vit C for at least 2 months and it has never caused me irritation before. (It's 20% serum.) I will not use the Vit C for a few days and see how it goes. (And then I will try it over the prep like Mabsy suggested...I was using it first.)
My face is blotchy red again after using the products this morning. Hmmm...I'm going to give it a couple of more days and then I'll contact the company.
On the positive side...I like the feel of these products and no smell!!! (which is huge for me) |

Okay...just to let everyone know. My redness has subsided. Not totally- it is still there around my mouth a bit (a sensitive area) but almost gone completely.
I'm sure it was using the 20% Vit C underneath that caused the redness.
So far I LOVE THESE PRODUCTS! I was very hesitant to order because of the price but I got one of the Christmas special 'build your own'deals and I'm glad I did (I had no idea until today there are actually sample sizes you can buy....). MY SKIN LOOKS AWESOME. Also I only need to use such a small amount that it will last a long time. |

Lily - well the ADCE apparently has a 5% concentration of vit C, so perhaps together this is too much for your skin to take?

Lily, when I first atarted using ADCE, I had a few flakes too. I think it was from not massaging it in enough. Now I never see them anymore. I can't wait to use the new Prep that has HA in it. I wish I was almost finished with my current bottle so I could order some but I'm going to stand firm on this and not order until I need some.  Oh well, I'll try to be patient. |
