Just wondering if anyone is taking this supplement (MSM) and if it has done anything good for their skin and/or hair? I bought some today with the hopes that it might help.
Also does anyone know what EDS charges for shipping in Canada? For some reason I can't find anything about it on the site. (Maybe I haven't looked in the right spot?) |

| Don't know about the effects on skin & hair but it really helps those who have joint problems. |

MSM is a sulphur compound, which is an essential part for every cell in the body. Thus, it is healpful with inflammation (arthritis) and skin, hair nails, etc.
I have also used silica which is great for the skin, hair and nails. But #1 is essential fatty acids such as Evening Primrose or Borage oil. |

I take MSM every day, and I do notice a great improvement in my complexion. It also makes your hair and nails very strong, but makes them grow like weeds! I trim my fingernails twice a week. If I don't they're tapping on the piano keys and driving me nuts! 
I notice that if I foget to take the MSM (over a weekend or something), then I always end up breaking out with a few pimples here and there. |

I've been taking a hair/skin/nails supplement containing both silica and MSM. I can attest to the fact that it makes your hair and nails grow like weeds! Unfortunately, it's not just the hair on your head, it's ALL your body hair (brows, lashes, leg & underarms, pubes) so be prepared to spent a lot more time plucking/shaving/trimming!!!  |

| I've been taking MSM for about a year to help with melasma (hyperpigmentation) and have seen wonderful results. I must be deficient because I take a lot and my nails are still weak and grow slowly. |

| My doctor told me that you won't see a noticible difference unless you take at least 1500mg a day. I take 2,000mg a day. He said that it has been in use since the late 1960's and there has never been a reported case of overdosing or adverse reactions or side effects. |

I buy mine from Costco and it works great! I don't have elbow pain or carpel pain anymore  |

No Wonder it's working for me so well!!!!
I've been taking MSM... like 4-5 750 mg caplets every day and my breakouts have nearly vanished! I'm so happy I could cry, I've been breaking out for years-literally. I get Jarrow brand that I buy at whole foods...I also use a supplement called "blemish guard" by the KAL brand company...both use ingredients that are of high integrity....
Can't say if this would work for everyone, but I've tried SO MANY things... |

Does anyone know if it is the ingredient of sulphur in MSM that makes the skin better and nails and hair grow?
I am allergic to sulpha and would not be able to take MSM. If anyone knows, please advise.

I've just recently started taking MSM after thinking about it for a year or so. Didn't really want to take any more supplements as I'm already popping about 6 pills a day and don't want to end up rattling when I walk! 
I always thought it was the sulphur content that was beneficial for your skin. I have used spot zapping products in the past that contain sulphur. The smell is horrible but it does seem to do the trick.

Skybaby - Yes, I think it's the sulphur that is supposed to be good for skin. At least that's what I have read.
Toe - if you don't like taking tablets you can have MSM in powder form. That's how I used to take it. I was taking it three times a day (probably around 2000mg in total I guess, I can't quite remember) and I was just mixing it in water or juice (it's tasteless). |
