mpstat:
I read the Prolight website about the benefit on the red and the amber LED. I think the red cover more benefit than the amber. Why you purchase both? I remember you kind of mentioned a reason in this thread. You all just provide a lot of advises and information on these LED. Sometime, I cannot remember that much.
I have freckle/age spot, fine line around eyes, little sagging and deep rings around neck. Do you have these concern. Did you see result on all these problems? Can I use the Prolight close to eyes area? Well, I have too many questions, sorry.
Rita mentioned that if I just use it for antiaging, I can just buy the Platinum. But I also want to help hair growth stimulation... Rita advised the longer wavelengths in the ProLight Red/Infrared will help. She is very helpful and returning my email promptly.
This is the longest post I write. |

Suk, amber is better for surface issues (like pigmentation and fine lines), while red/infrared is better for deeper issues (like sagging and collagen development). Red would definitely be better for hair stimulation. I would go with what Rita recommends...she is the expert!
However, I would personally recommend Viviscal supplements or Folligen for Blondes over the LED for thinning hair. I have dealt with that for 15+ years, and those are 2 things that have given me great results. Viviscal also has skin benefits, which is a nice bonus. |

Suk - I got two separate lights because I wanted to have greater flexibility with LEDs. If I feel that I need more red/infrared treatment I can use ProLight Red, and when I feel to use more amber I can use ProLight Amber.
Also treatment time with pro units is shorter then with Platinum. LEDs strength, flexibility, efficiency, and treatment time were of importance for me. With my priorities I chose separate units.
LEDs with mixed lights are less of the hassle to use and it might be preferred by some people.
If I to get lights separately one at a time, I would get red light first, and then amber one. Because as you pointed out red has more known benefits. I use red light for medical treatments, and found it very helpful. I also love ProLight Amber, it is so bright that I feel that I am holding a shining sun in my hands. And it makes me happy just to use it.. As Kassy wrote in multiple posts about amber more and more info coming about amber benefits, and it is valuable light.
ProLights can be used close to eyes, and pro units come with goggles. |

I agree that having both lights gives the ultimate in flexibility and in light strength. If I had the cash to invest, that's what I'd do.
But since I don't, I went with the Platinum model and have seen good results in the several months I have been using it--better skin texture, reduction of redness and blotchiness in my cheek area, and reduction of pigmentation in two little sunspots (though not in a third one, as of yet). The Platinum came with googles, too, but I don't use them. I use the light just above and below my eyes, and if I can see any brightness through my closed eyes, I just put a finger or two over my eyelids while using the light. |

flitcraft - thank you for the Platinum info. It is great that you have such good results!!!
Platimun definitely is cost effective, and a good value. I was not sure if it comes with goggles, but as you clarified it does. Covering eyes with a finger is also a good idea, and might be even easier then using goggles |

bethany, mpstat and flitcraft:
Thank you for the feedback on the Prolight.
mpstat, you mentioned that Prolight Red is good for medical treatment. How's about back pain?
I think I will go for the Prolight red as a Christmas present for myself. Well, I may save more money on skincare because I have the Prolight.
Please keep posting your result and experience on LED.
Thank you,
Suk Han |

Red & infrared can be used to treat muscle and joint pain, so it should be suitable for back pain as well. I gave DPL LEDs (that I used before I got ProLights, DPL is weaker then ProLight) along with ultrasound device to a friend of mine to treat bursitis from sports injuries. He has been treating it for several months by now, and said that he feels better. So it might be not a fast recovery, but it definitely helps. In my case I did not have such serious conditions, and it helped tissue to heal faster in a matter of days. |

One thing I just noticed today--my broken capillaries seem to have improved in the past few months, and I think it is likely it is the LED.
I have for quite a while been plagued with what I think are broken capillaries--tiny reddish thready looking things on my left cheek under my eye and around my nose. (They aren't anywhere as close to as obvious as spider veins on my legs, but seem to be in the same "family" of skin issues.)
Well, after a few months of LED use, I've noticed that the ones in my cheek area appear to be gone! I still have visible ones directly around the nostrils--which is where the LED is farthest from my face as I use it. I'm going to start concentrating on getting a tighter fit when I use the light on those area and see what happens.
Has anyone else had this kind of result from an LED? And, if you can't get a tight fit, will it just take longer or is the effect only likely when you can apply light directly to the skin surface? |

Hmmm..I think I need to pull mine out and use it on my H2O2 sores. Thanks for the reminder! |

flitcraft - it is really great that some of your capillaries gone!!!!
Can you please clarify what you mean by "tighter fit"? Do you refer to tighter skin? |

It is a good idea. I am going to do the same! I treated one spot with H2O2 and GA mix, it frosted big time!!!! Now I can help its healing with LED. |

Mpstat....I think Flitcraft means a tighter fit of the LED against the skin, if I read it correctly. I do believe Flitcraft is having a hard time getting the Lightstim close against the skin in that area on the nose..... |

bren21 - this what I was not clear about whether it is tighter skin or getting ProLight Platinum closer to the nose.... |

Yes, that's exactly what I meant--it's hard to get the LED pushed close to the skin around the nose area. But, tell you what, now that I've noticed the reduction in broken capillaries, I've determined to try! (Will report on any progress in the next few weeks or months...) |

Ha ha...I meant the Prolight!! ha ha....wrong thread:) I guess I am stuck on the Lightstim!! And good luck with those broken caps on the nose! Do make sure you check back in to report any progress....It's great hearing about the positive results from these LED's..I can't wait to get mine.
Mpstat...tighter skin...I love hearing those words !! That is what I am hoping to get out of my LED. I just need a little bit of tightening in the jowl/cheek area, nothing major, so I am hoping that is what results from my LED useage...All this sagging happened to me in the last year. I used to have very prominent cheeks...but those seem to be heading south these days. Not sure what caused it so abruptly, certainly due to stress over the last year I have had. I just need to stop it from happening any more!!! |

My broken caps were gone 6 weeks after I switched to the Anti-Aging LightStim..(They faded with the original LS)
I really believe it's the combination of red/infrared/amber used simultaneously that is responsible for this, and my other great results..
I don't have a problem getting the LS close to any area because the lights aren't recessed like the Platinum.. Maybe you can hold your nose slightly to the side with one hand, while getting as close to the nostrils with the LED as possible.
Another tip is to apply a cold wet cloth (from the freezer!) over your entire face/neck immediately after your treatment.. It will constrict those little suckers, as well as close the pores.
Flit, by any chance are you noticing your skin getting a little paler? |

Thanks for the suggestions, Kassy. You're the best!
I have to admit that I was surprised to see the broken capillaries results--somehow in all the long LED threads I must have missed that, or I'd have been watching more closely. I have three or four spots of spider veins on my legs that I've had for years--I'm going to try the ProLight on them and see what happens.
As far as paleness overall, I will be watching for that. As I may have mentioned, my skin tone is already fairly pale (usually the lightest "yellow" foundation color). But my forehead and the skin at my temples is a bit lighter than the rest of my face--I assume because those areas for many years have been shielded from sun exposure by my thick hair. I'll be watching to see if the rest of my face lightens to match my "original" color.
In a way, I hope I don't get much paler or I'll have to use talcum powder as foundation. |

Hi Bethany,
I'm a complete newbie and being ignorant here.
You mentioned that the lights will stimulate hair.
Will it mean that with use, although the skin will improve, there will be more hair on my face?
Sorry for dumb. |

Capelettp, I use the Prolight Platinum, which mixes red, infrared, and amber. Kassy had similar results (or even better, perhaps?) with the Lightstim. |

Flitcraft - Kassie has been using the antiaging lightstim longer than you have been using the prolight platinum and she is faithful! and the original lighstim before that. She is the poster child of results.
I would suggest from all I read it is about power of the lights and faithful use. I suspect you will be blessed with results too - like Kassie given time, time, time.
I love my prolight Red. (collagen baby!) Just saw a picture of me two years ago and one this week - taken same big Christmas party (always the upclose picture taken every year) and I look better - skin firmer, more lift, vibrant. I never knew! but it was so obvious and I thought the other picture was nice! I credit the prolight and my almost six months of FE and now Ageless.....
Awesome.....whoops - good skincare too and lots $$$ figuring it out.

Tis true! I've been using my LED's faithfully for 14 months in total, about 10 months with the AALS.
I agree with everything Sis said except the 'collagen' part.. In my personal experience, the addition of the 'amber' lights made the biggest/fastest impact in that regard. And the improvements continue.
Somewhere in this thread, I posted a recent picture. In the picture you will notice a fullness in my face, and a defined jawline.. I didn't have that 1 year ago.. Some people don't believe in pictures, or find them suspect, and they are certainly welcome to their opinion, but the fact of the matter is, that I look 10 years younger today, than I did 1 year ago.
As Sis mentioned above, the pictures of herself is what made her aware of her differences... They really do tell the story, and anybody that doesn't keep that diary for themselves, is really missing out. |
