My, my, my... Well isn't this a bit of a development!
I just used a sample of the DDF Hydra Comfort Gel Mask and I have to say I am VERY surprised.
This mask is a blue gel (keep reading, that is NOT why I was surprised :P). I was expecting it to be similar to the Clinique Moisture Surge Extra (which I used to use as a 10 minute moisture mask). Well the colours are obviously different (pink vs. blue), but I expected this to be just a normal gel that sits there on your face silently hydrating it.
Well, the 'silently' part was right (it didn't start to sing or anything) but imagine my surprise when after about a minute of having it on I started to feel a minty tingle I had decided that this was simply impossible (the "Hydra Comfort Gel = Moisture Surge Extra" expectation was a tad strong) but the tingle just got stronger! I used the entire sample in one go, which was a bit much but I had already squeezed it out onto my palm so there was no going back. When I washed it off after about 10-15 minutes, my skin still had a refreshing tingle to it. More so, the upper lip area felt a tiny bit numb even! Mind you, that might have something to do with the lip wax I had done yesterday
I seriously don't know if mine was a normal reaction to this mask because it just does not sound like a mask that would be tingly (either way, I loved it! ) I imagine that, since the description says 'ultra gentle', it is meant for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Yet I was under the impression that sensitive skin would not appreciate being treated to something minty. Is that right? Or am I WAY off here?
Either way, my skin feels nicely moisturised at the moment. I still have another sample of this and I will save it for next week to see if I get the same reaction to it (fingers crossed! ).
Now, the thirty-three dollar question is: Has anybody here used this mask and found it minty? Sorry, I still can't quite believe it.....

Hmmm. Just had a look at the main ingredients:
- Aloe Vera
- Allantoin
- Portulaca
- Comfrey Leaf Extract
- Bilberry-Leaf Extract
- Burdock Root
- Heal-All
- Milk Thistle Seed Extract
I'm guessing it's supposed to be minty then....
ps. "Heal-All" sounds promising :P |

Mabsy, Mabsy, Mabsy,
Tsk tsk tsk,
We really are the ruin of each other with this whole minty thing, aren't we?! I'm so curious to try to DDF mask now! It's pretty rare that a "gentle" mask can be tingly . . . most of my minty masks are for acneic skins and they're quite drying (not gentle at all, I would presume).
Wow, I've gotta try this now!

LOL, yeah
I've never heard of a genlte minty mask, which is why I suspected that I might have had a reaction to it (a GOOD reaction :P). But looking at the ingredients it seems that it's the way it should be. I'm hoping somebody on the forum can chime in with their experience with it.

Ok, tried another sample and got the same tingly feeling. Just as well, because I ended up ordering this from EDS last night.
At the moment my skin is perfectly comfortable even though I am not wearing any moisturiser. All I did was wash off the mask about three hours ago. I'm going to sleep 'sans moisturiser' tonight... (possibly the first time in years) just to see what my skin feels/looks like tomorrow.

Hi Lianne,
I ended up buying a full size of this and have finished it (with some help from my mother who always comes to see me to ask if I have a nice moiturising mask... ). Interestingly, I did not feel the tingly sensation as much anymore after I used it for a few times. Nevertheless, it was a very effective mask - from what I recall it left my face plump, smooth and moisturised. I have not repurchsed because I figured out that a) I have too many masks that I still need to use up (*way* too many), and, b) I think prefer cream based masks. |

I know you've got quite the collection of masks, that's why I wondered if you were still using it!
Amazing that you finished a product though! hehe |

Well, without my mum getting in on the DDF action I don't think I would have finished it. I must say though that I am doing very well lately with finishing things off. I just finished one of my Eminence Masks and I'm very close to finishing another. This morning I finished off a Babor mask I had (although that was a travel size 1/2 oz one). Come to think of it, I think I prefer the Babor moist & fresh (which is more of a gel/cream formulation) to the DDF mask.... |

I've never tried babor products. I see they recently got a new line, 'B young'...
I'd like to try some new stuff, but seems like everything bothers my skin. If only I could find the PERFECT skincare products and just keep buying them. I do well with the first bottle of products, but when I repurchase I never seem to have as good as a result.. |
