Hi there,

I'm new here and would need some advice from somebody who knows more about makeup and skin care than me. I'm almost clueless, tbh. Have never really used anything but neutrogena cleanser and nivea soft (I know it's not the best moisturizer but I always had bad experiences with my experiments, so gave up). I also never wear foundation/powder etc.. I use sunblock in the summer, but nothing else.
Anyway, I'm planning to change that. I think I need to pay way more attention to my skin. I don't seem to have many girlfriends that are knowledgeable about that kinda stuff, though, and I don't trust sales people.
My skin is also very irritable so I always end up not using what I buy. Sad

I basically wanted to start with eye cream. I am 25 and am starting to see the first fine lines appear under my eyes Sad . I used Garnier nutrionist a few years back for a few months or so, but noticed very little difference.
I read here that something too rich might cause milia, and since I've always had trouble with those, I wondered if there's anything lighter you guys can recommend?
In general, my skin is blemish prone, I wouldn't call it acne, but I have a few small spots. My skin looks oily, but is actually really really dry after I shower.
I guess I'd need to get moisturizer and anti ageing products, too, soon. But eye cream is where I want to start, since I'm a little scared of irritation etc

Anyhoo, thanks in advance, for any tips whatsoever. I really appreciate it. I have been reading the posts on this forum for a while, but obviously there's sooo much information, that I thought I'd just ask.
Thanks girls!
Very Happy

You REALLY need to read this book I just read because it's got the research to back it up. It's called SuperNatural Solutions to Adult Acne and Aging. I found it online at supernaturalskin, com. I wish everyone would read it because it deals with a lot of myths and breaking discoveries and can help you avoid the pitfalls many women make. A lot of blog sites deal with products people tried--there are soooo many that it will make your head spin. It helps to know WHY a product works so you can choose wisely and save some money.

By the way, I'm a fan of Arbonne Eye Cream.

Twinkletoes,

There are so many skin books on the market it's hard to know what to rely on.

Could you tell the board a few tips the e-book talks about that makes it so good? Any new things we haven't heard before about the Super Natural Solution to Acne and Anti-Aging?

Thanks...

I'm not a big believer that eye creams are necessary. They wont correct or prevent lines. Your best bets for anti-aging are sunscreen and antioxidant serums.
I dont use any special eye products. I just use what I use on my face.

I stopped using eye cream too as I never saw any really working. As GirlieGirl does, I just use my face cream around eyes. But of course different people have different experiences.

I tend to believe eye cream is not necessary at all, however, I insist on using them because I hope there are miracles...like eye cream can get rid of my under eye lines!

I actually use a serum, not a cream around the eyes. Creams make my eyes puff. My serum of choice is Isomers One 3000 eye serum. It's good for puffiness, and has matrixyl 3000 & copper in it.

Skin around eye area is typically much thinner than other area of face. Some products for face will cause granule on eye area. I found my eye area need special care because it is even drier if it is not moisturized enough.

I use a bit of vitamin E along with squalane. If my eyes get puffy I apply a bit of Prep H w/biodyne BUT not close to the eye.
