I have some post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (basically lots of redness) on my cheeks from age-old acne. What helps to get rid of this? I've had it for over a year now.

Also, under my eyes the skin turned darkish brown. They look like dirty smudges and make me look tired all the time. Definitely not any deficiency, what could be causing it? More importantly i need something that will get rid of them quick.

The first thing is to have your acne under control. If the same area gets acne repeatedly then there is no time and chance for the skin to heal on its own. If you get acne flare up on the same spot, then those post acne marks should clear on its own in 6 months time based on my experience.

Go for an IPL or Vbeam treatment can zap away the broken vessals underneth. You should be able to see some good results from just one treatment. Your undereye discoloration is more likey due to blood vessals as well. Yag laser should help. If it really brothers you, you should consult with a derm who performs laser to see if that is an option for you.

I think you should give a good Vitamin C product, one that contains l-ascorbic acid, a try.

Vitamin C, AHA's and most importantly always apply a good sunscreen.

I have a little bit under each eye and I will be using a combination of the above, plus an eye cream that contains retin a.
Good luck:)
