Hi all, I am new to this forum.
I am wanting to make my own Vitamin C serum.
I have stumbled upon Kassy's 15% serum.
I want to make this recipe:
15% Vitamin C, E + FA Serum with Jojoba
1 tsp L-AA
1 tsp SKB
1 tsp Jojoba Oil
3 tsp H2O distilled
1/4 tsp Ferulic Acid
1/4 tsp Vitamin E Oil
1/4 tsp Vodka
My question is.I want to start at 5% and slowly work my way up to 20%,so can anyone please tell me how I alter this recipe for 5%,10% & 20% vitamin c concentration?
If anyone could please give me the recipe for each strength, I would be very grateful.
Many thanks in advance.

I think it would be much easier to just make the 15%. You would be getting down to some hard to measure numbers trying to do that like 1/12 FA, 1/12 SKB, 1/12 Jojoba. You could just take it really slow until your skin adjusted to the serum. You could even buffer it if you needed to. No need to go to 20% as there is no more benefit gained over 15% |

Would that be okay going straight to 15%?
I've kept reading that you should build it up from 5%.I'm just going on what I have read to be honest.
I will try it at 15% if you think that would be okay.
Should I do it intermittently, like do it a day and then miss a day in between and just build it up?
Thanks for your reply.

Yes straight to 15% is a great idea. I've read a bunch about vitamin C serum over the years and I rarely if ever come across something saying to start at 5-10%...maybe the companies that are selling this % are saying that...go figure...lol
Yes start out slow...no need to rush things....that's what gets people screwed up when they start out fast on Retin-A...much less issues with a C serum but you could still be sensitive in the early stages. Once you are comfortable using it, you could use it every day or every other day like I do. Alternating one day Retin-A and the next C serum or whatever routine your on. You generally hear to use it in the morning but it works just as well to use it an night. Once absorbed, it can't be washed off and stays in the skin for around 72 hours. A fact that is often overlooked when people commonly say to use in the morning.
"Once absorbed, this serum can’t be washed or rubbed off. It remains effective for a minimum of 72 hours, making it an excellent addition to sunscreen."

I will go straight to 15% then.Thank you so much for your help.Much appreciated.
I am thinking of taking rice phytoceramides,as I have read that taking these whilst topically applying vitamin c they work very well to try and combat the signs of aging.
