In a situation where someone's cheeks have fallen causing jowls and nl's I know that one option to remedy that is through facial exercise to raise the cheeks back up.

My question is once the cheeks are raised up through exercises this usually seems to cause the appearence of lines under the eye area since the skin is now moved up and is wrinkling from the excess skin that was stretched under the eye when the cheeks were drooping.

Has anyone ever had this situation and is there a way to remedy the lines without cosmetic surgery?

Thanks

I think you are misunderstanding what you have read. Whilst the cheeks do become stronger and get bigger they actually fill the skin out moreso. The muscles become larger and fill outwards more. So with the under eye area it does get effected during that process but you will usually be doing an exercise for the eyes too to prevent them look strange in comparison. With the cheeks that have dropped, the skin may be stretched, but it won’t be the part in the lower lids but the part of the cheek. So basically I wouldn’t worry about it.

Hi Maxon; the face doesn't have excess skin like, say, the abdomen, or even the neck. The facial skin is attached to the muscles so as to show movements (expressions) as clearly as possible. The eye muscle in particular is fused to the muscle underneath. So you need to rethink the eye area in these terms. The skin isn't drooping from the muscle; the muscle/skin compound is sliding down all together.

If the eye muscle is restored to a healthy state
with exercise it will lie flat. It will wrinkle when you smile, but nothing more

Ll Smile

What about under eye hollows? I did an exercise program for almost a year. Even though I did eye exercises in conjuction with cheek exercises, I still developed under eye hollows. Which still happen to be there after almost a year or so of stopping all exercises altogether! Wish I had my old eyes back Sad
