Hi Guys!

I have been a longggg time silent reader of EDS. In fact I often just do a site-wide search when I am interested in any new device.

I bought the Palovia when it first came out...and while it worked for me (while it worked), it has now started to malfunction, in that it does not produce hardly any energy. It's on ultra low setting all the time. Palovia isn't even around anymore, so not able to replace it.

Here's my question:

We have cheap chinese versions of lots of devices these days. Cheap nuface, cheap tripollar stop, etc...

Has any smart Chinese company made a cheap version of the Tria / Palovia / ReAura yet?

I searched for "fractional laser device" and "tria antiaging" on aliexpress and dhgate, but I couldn't find anything...

Has anybody seen anything like this?

Thanks!

My Tria works great when it works. My last unit lasted 8 months and just quit on me. Since I love the stupid thing, I"m going to exchange it. One of these days, I'm going to buy a Tria that manages to last through its one year warranty. Soooo a cheaper product? Sounds unsafe at best. Look for a sale-Ulta has 20% off coupons regularly.

I'm not sure if I would trust a cheapo laser or fraxel type device. These devices could severely harm your skin, and if made cheaply could probably cause some real damage. Certain devices are okay to buy cheap, but most of the time you get what you pay for. I happen to have just one knock off device, it's the Norlanya RF device, and even that I use sparingly! When it comes to certain skin care, you need to shell out the cash to get the good (safe) results.

Plus, may I add that being an "at home product" youre already saving thousands over going to the medspa or skin care specialist and getting monthly/yearly treatments. So to be honest, most at home devices are pretty affordable when considering that.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the feedback..I appreciate your concern, / advice, but you are telling me things I already know Smile I know that real spa treatments are worth way more $$ (I had the actual fraxel done in 2009 and it was awesome). I know that "expensive" home devices can be worth it(I bought the Palovia when it came out for $500 or so I think) and it worked great..until it stopped working.

I also understand that many people are afraid of using "cheap" Chinese version of things...But guess what, I'm not! I've had great success with cheap Chinese version of other things (radiofrequency device, for one, and now a thermage device), and I think that Palovia and friends are probably using Chinese factory anyways...But the point isn't whether or not one should use a cheap version - We call get to make that choice for ourselves...

My question was...

Does anybody know if there IS a "cheap" Chinese version of the Palovia / Tria / ReAura yet?

I really think it is only a question of *when* they will come out with one, not *if* they will come out with one. More and more competitors are already making their version (isn't there now an iluminage?). I am just waiting for the Chinese to catch on. And if anybody else is hesitant to try a cheap Chinese version of Fraxel, don't worry, I will be your guinea pig Smile

EDIT: Actually, if these devices came with 3 or 5-year warranties I really WOULD just buy one. But all of them only have 1-year warranties and I know first-hand that the technology only lasts so long (mine has stopped working after 3 years). Plus I'm hearing lots of stories about the Tria malfunctioning as well...If I'm going to pay for something that's just going to break down in 3-24 months, I'd rather buy the cheap Chinese version of it!

I know what you're asking, and if you've done an extensive online search and cant find anything then no, there are no such products available. I don't think it would be easy to mass produce a product that isn't even really trusted, especially one made by a non-reputable company. I'm not saying that off brand Chinese products are all crap, but I am sorry, I don't think I could ever trust a cheaply manufactured fraxel/laser device, most wouldn't, that's why there is no market for it, aka no products available of that sort. The technology and needed parts for such a product costs money, hence why you can't find one that is cheap and off brand. I think years from now, once more major companies have released these products and the market is dense with them, then you may start to see cheaper versions, one would think.

Also, check eBay, there are PLENTY of second hand used Tria age defying lasers that sell for $200+. That's pretty darn affordable and you wont find much cheaper than that for such a product to be honest!

Yes, I think you're right. My only beef with all of the name brand ones is their short warranty. Even a warranty for replacement parts or repairs of up to 3 years would make me feel better...Maybe one day soon...
