There's so much conflicting info online. I've read anywhere from up to 3x/week (Sarah Vaughter, from whom I purchased my dermaroller) to no more than once a month.

Have also read conflicting info on when copper peptides should be applied. Owndoc says immediately after dermarolling, other sources say only days after. If there's so much confusion perhaps I shouldn't use them at all.

You're right...there are differing opinions on frequency of use. There is an entire and lengthy thread on the topic of dermarolling here http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=22460...it's really long but you should check it out.
I think I personally decided that 0.5 was the size that first triggers collagen and started out about once every 2-3 weeks with that size. This is the size and frequency that first gave me results. The 1. and the 1.5 I decided every 4-6 weeks.
Too frequently is going to basically just keep your skin constantly irritated where it never heals and while you do want to irritate it you also do want it to heal or you're defeating the whole purpose.

I don't remember the general consensus on what to use afterward as there are also differing opinions there. You want irritation, yes..but how long do you want it irritated and how soon do you want to make it heal? So there was also the debate on how long afterward to use a lightstim.

I did use Sarah's weaker copper peptide (not super cop or some of the stronger ones)afterward to no ill effect and I even did Retin a afterward a few times. Most people get too irritated by Retin a afterward even with the .5 but it didn't bother me too much except for some minor flakes the next week.

Mostly I did the CP and then Infadolan and I would wait the next day to use the lightstim and would use my regular retin a and vitamin c regiment the next week depending on my level of irritation.
You should check out the thread though..It's been a while since I read it and there was a book on microneedling that was heavily discussed. You can see what others did and what worked for different people.
But I think that most agreed that too frequent was not the best approach.

I do think it's worth it.

Now I use the 1.5 approx every 6 weeks. I think I switched hoping for better results or to do it less frequently but i'm not sure a .5 or a 1.0 more frequently isn't just as good unless you have some major scarring issues.

This was so helpful, and I will check out that thread. I also use the Infadolan and Retin A, but I'm not clear on the proper Infadolan schedule. Sarah says to use it every day around the eyes, and for 14 days following derma needling, but is she referring to the entire face?

I find the .5mm to be rather painful across my cheekbones.. I doubt I could tolerate the 1mm. Do you use numbing cream with the 1.5mm?

I don't have any scarring.

Now, can I use the .2 or .3mm daily for product penetration?

She would be referring to the entire face for 14 days but it's not a protocol that I followed.

There's not one size fits all so you make your own choices on that. My skin recuperated rather quickly and it's not dry or sensitive so I only resorted to more than one night if I had used Vit c or Retin A after rolling. In that case it was more irritated so it needed more protecting and more healing..
If you read parts of that thread (it starts in 2007, I think) you will find different methods people have had success with..

Some people report fantastic results with the infadolan around the eyes. I tried it..no harm, no foul. Nothing special for me. I don't have a lot of wrinkles or fine lines but mostly the hollows starting. I didn't find it that much of an advantage of thickening the skin under the eyes which is my biggest goal. But it may work for you.

There's a lot of numbing creams that people recommend. You should check them out..I have tried to be tough and do it solo...but I do find myself dreading it somewhat with the 1.5 much more so than the .5. I may go back to the .5 or back off to the 1.mm.

The .2 and the .3 are fine to use frequently for product penetration.
