The Eminence Rosehip & Maize Exfoliating Masque is a gentle mask that does a good job of exfoliation. It's a thick mask with a creamy pink color. There are some rather large bits of corn granule in it that you should be careful of when applying, if your skin is sensitive. I don't think that it is meant for manaul exfoliation at all, because the large pieces can scratch you.

I've used this mask two different ways. First, I used it alone; applied after cleansing and left it on for 20 minutes. No stinging, no tingling. I tried to just rinse it off, but it really needs a damp cloth to remove it. Afterwards, my skin was calm and even-toned and a bit glowy. I think that this is a great mask for the more sensitive skin types; for myself, I prefer something with a little more oomph! Wink

So, to get that extra oomph, I mixed the Rosehip & Maize masque with the Lime Stimulating masque in about at 2:1 ratio. I really like this combination. I leave it on about 15 minutes and it looks like my skin has turned red around the edges of the mask, but once I remove it, there is no redness at all. Mixing it with the Lime mask makes it a more potent exfoliator. I can tell that it is doing more, because it will bring the gunk in my pores right to the surface and it is so easy to do extractions.

All in all, I think that it is a mask that anyone can use. Would I buy it again? Yes, along with the Lime Stimulating Masque.

Ingredients: Rosehip, Rosehip Juice, Corn Extract, Zinc Oxide, Corn Germ Oil, Bioflavonoids, Honey, Corn Granules, Natural Moisturizing Factor, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Natural Cream Base, Biocomplex (Vitamin A, Ester C,Vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid), Salicylic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Lemon Oil, Mint Oil, Glycerin, Glycine Derivative

Awesome review, Tam! Looks like I have been using it incorrectly all along. I thought it was for manual exfoliation and couldn't figure out why it is recommended for for sensitive skin! Confused What you said makes perfect sense, though, so now I know. Thanks for this--I will try using it as you do below! Smile

Tam,
I don't know if I should hug you or hate you for such good review. I am a sucker for masks. Mad

the R&M is another that I am lemming to try, but that Lime one has me scared Laughing ... maybe mixing with R&M would be a better way to use it...

Tried this one and not a fan. The scrub particles felt like broken glass on my skin-too jagged and large. This was the original version though so I don't know if they have refined the grains or not now. It did sting abit an I assume that was due to the AHAs. I wouldn't repurchase this one.

I think, as Tam mentions above, it is not meant to be used for manual exfoliation...

Funny thing is that when I bought it I was told to use it as a scrub by the SA. Personally, I feel that if it has no function in the product then why bother adding it. Still I guess you can use it as a mask. I didn't know that the Eminence produts can be mixed. What else can you customize?

It's possible that the SA hadn't used it personally and gave you information that was incorrect. Not sure why the large granules are in it, but it is called a "masque".

I got the tip of combing the Lime Stimulating with this mask from another member of the forum. I don't remember who it was; otherwise I'd give her the credit. Very Happy I have the impression with Eminence that you can really mix and match as you like; customize your masks to suit your own needs. The Lime Stimulating and Eight Greens Phtyo Masque (hot) are two that get your skin revved up. In my opinion, I think mixing either of them with another mask increases the effectiveness of the second mask. I'm not an expert, just going by my results. Smile

It smells wonderful but doesn't perform well as a scrub or as a mask. And when I put it on my skin feels a little irritated. Will not purchase again.

Not suitable for sensitive skin? Why the product recommendation is for sensitive?

I bought Eminence Rose Collection Tube which includes Rosehip & Maize Exfoliating Treatment (1/2 oz). The size is small but enough for me. I don't want to buy a full size product as I've used it before. If it is not suitable to my skin, then it will be a waste!

Luckily, Rosehip & Maize Exfoliating Treatment is quite mild and my skin loves it. I use it only ONCE a week. I think it is enough as my skin is quite sensitive. After I use it, I will use Sweet Red Rose Treatment. This masque smells good and looks good as well.

Very Happy

Unluckily, I can't use this masque as my skin is quite thin and sensitive.

I've given it to my mom.

I use Eminence rosehip & maize exfoliating treatment twice a week, it should be careful of the maize granules, however I feel clam for my sensitive skin, any exfoliation can be replace of the rosehip and maize exfoliating treatment. Laughing

I am having it on my face now! Agree that the granules are bit coarse and rough, but after using it, my skin is soft and radiates

I have sensitive skin, but I think the rosehip and maize masque is ok, you only need to be careful about the granule. It actually pretty mild and I am interested in the idea on mixing it with lime stimulating masque when you apply. I will try that too and see how it works. It has very pure rose scent and you know it's pure.

Have anyone tried EMINENCE Eight Greens Phyto Masque (Hot)? I'm interested in it but also afraid of the over-stimulation on my super sensitive skin. Is it suitable for sensible skin?
