I have tried countless physical and chemical sunscreens.. Here are some I have tried.. Burnout, Loving naturals (25% zinc), Kabana, Total Block, Bioderma, Biore and some more.. I apply a thick layer but I still always tan after like 10 mins. I am not even spending ridiculous amount of time outside, so just disappointed that I cant get any protection.
Please help.. Any sunscreens you guys can recommend for someone who tans very easily? Thanks a lot |

I've been using a very cheap one I bought off amazon.co.uk - Shade All-Natural Sunscreen google it the reviews were good & so cheap. I am Asian and my skin tans quickly but I did not. |

I'm a sunblock junkie. I struggle with melasma so I have to be.
When it comes to sunscreen, make sure you are applying enough. 1/4 teaspoon for your face. I actually bought a 1/4 teaspoon and physically measured out this amount of product so I would know what it looks like. I suggest you try it. It's actually quite a lot of product. I was surprised.

I have found the sunscreens that the EWG recommends to be really good. I personally like the MyChelle SPF30 and the Suntegrity the best. I often layer them.

| Avene very high protection from Europe ( not US version ) layered with shiseido babies n children plus a hat or parasol works well hard to do but necessary for my fugly olive skin that tans at the sight of the sun : |

Some tips to share from people who stay in the tropic with bright sunshine almost throughout the year..
Apply sunscreen at least 20mins before going out.
Reapply after a few hours, or after you sweat a lot.
Use Aloe vera gel helps to soothe the skin.
Exfoliation helps to reduce dead skin, so your skin will look lighter.
Wear hat/cap if you are in the outdoor for a extended period of time.

Agree Avene factor 50 seems the way to go |

Well, I would suggest you ignore the western branded sunblocks and pay attention to the Asian ones.
Asians take skin darkening rather seriously, while Westerners are more concerned with not being a red lobster after sun exposure.
Have a read:

Since most westerners want to turn dark rather than remain white, none of the western brands bother to reformulate their sunscreen to make them meet the PA ratings.
TL;DR
SPF rating: Cares about whether you turn red
PA rating: Cares about whether you turn dark
If you're serious about not wanting your skin to get darker, look for a Sunblock PA++++ rating.
Screw all western brands. Go for something more reliable. |

For someone who actually cares about their skin or suffers melasma, then i'm sure you know that any sunscreen with a measurement of PPD 15 or higher is effective enough to protect our skin against UVA radiation and melasma. You’re probably wondering now what are some good sunscreens that contain both SPF and PPD to protect you against melasma.

Based on this list, in theory, go for La Roche Posay or Bioderma. Must say, this list misses out all the new fangled sunscreens from Japan and Korea in the past 2 years. They are way superior, IMHO. YMMV. |

I've been using biore's face milk. Most facial sunscreens I found were really heavy on UVB protection, but light on UVA protection.
Biore's face milk has a PA++++ rating(which is like the SPF equivalent of SPF 15 - but for UVA). Most American made sunscreens are like the UVA equivalent of SPF 6. They have super strong UVB protection, and weak, awful UVA protection.
The only crappy part is waiting forever for it to get here from Asia(usually Japan). It's actually pretty cheap. |

brand since I tan easily too.
Anyone can elaborate more about Biore? such as is it light, absorves quickly, white cast or not, drying or oily, etc. TIA |

Good formulation with a mix of physical sunscreens and chemical filters.
If you do not use a physical sunscreen, then apply a thin layer of mineral powder that matches your skin tone. Almost any brand will do the job. |
