Hmm I got an own brand one from Sainsburys, here are a few links:

There seems to be a few own brand supermarket ones, but Dr. Oetker is quite a famous name that you should find in the shops.

Ah I see you meant the agar based gelling powders. I think these are different from gelatin as they don't have the same amino acids etc but a quick search online seems to suggest that the japanese (and I can't argue with them over skin!) believe that agar is beneficial for skin. It is very cheap so well worth picking some up and experimenting with!

Thanks!

Just doing some reading at the moment and it seems like the benefits of powdered gelatin seem to be due to the glycine and proline content which is essential for collagen. Gelatin seems to be especially popular as it gives all these benefits with few extra calories as well as being cheap. A vegetarian could potentionally get these benefits by using proline and glycine powders I think? I might give this a try as I have already liked my results from l-lysine. I do have some concerns about increasing protein intake so will need to think about that.

Rather than separate supplements, what do you think about multi-functional whole food supplements like The Super Elixir Alkalizing Greens?

The Alkalizing Formula is free from synthetic ingredients and is made using premium, cold pressed bio-live ingredients so the body can easily recognise and use every nutrient. Unique ingredients including Chinese herbs and shiitake and maitake mushrooms – a good source of key minerals manganese, selenium, zinc and the "master antioxidant" ergothioneine. Our super greens powder contains a careful mix of pre and probiotics to support digestion. A healthy gut pH balance equals less bloating and a flatter tummy.

There isn't a better for anyone person, as we are all dealing with different issues, lifestyles, genetics. However they are a better combo (i.e. team) than trying either one singularly.

I don't have a product to recommend as I don't know any of it but I believe the best way to stay young and look healthy is to exercise everyday, drink lots of water and eat healthy.

Elysium is good. Also look into less skin-focused nutrients and more whole-body tonics like PQQ, glutathione boosters (I like Cellgevity) and longivda cuurcumin. Carotenoids (lutein and astaxanthin) are good. One great thing about these nutrients is that whats good for your skin is great for your brain too.

The top five anti-aging supplements are:

Omega-3-fat oil that is a powerful anti-inflammatory material which repairs the age-related cellular damage. Fish oil has omega 3 fatty acids which are a good anti-aging tool.
Green superfood powder composed of antioxidant properties of grass juices, herbs, berries that helps to slow down aging.

Resveratrol is a good element the effectively slows down aging. Red wine is a good source of resveratrol. Resveratrol is a polyphenol found in grapes and berries Daily dose of this supplement is recommended for better skin.
A mixture of herb juice, containing ashwagandha, basil, Rhodiola and ginseng lower the cortisol level and helps to reduce stress level.

Coenzyme10 is a powerful antioxidant that restricts premature aging. As we grow older, an enzyme called CoQ10 produced by the body decreases and this is related to various age-related disorders and skin aging. The presence of these enzymes in the body protects cell from damage resulting in healthy skin and hair and good overall health.

Biotin: It is a water-soluble vitamin. It is a coenzyme but it is not synthesized in the body, so it has to be taken as a supplement. This vitamin stops cell death which causes aging.

Vitamin E: Research suggests it has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which are important in skin regeneration and cell growth, the process in which old diseased cells fall off and radiant and glowing skin takes its place. This vitamin also helps in protecting skin from wrinkles and environmental damage.

Consumer Reports recently had an article about Biotin impacting blood test results.

https://www.consumerreports.org/vitamins-supplements/the-trouble-with-biotin-supplements/

For me, I like Omega 3 and a good balanced diet with heathy fats (nuts, avocados, fish)

7. Matcha Tea- both Green and White (especially white tea which is shown to inhibit elastase levels in the skin).
8. Polypodium Leuoctomos- the fern block found in Heliocare.
9. CocoaVia capsules- clinical strength raw cocoa- brain and skin again.
10. Carotenoids- lutein, lycopene and astaxanthin.
11. Pycogenol (pine bark extract).
