My skin is dry and oily at the same time, so I have dry flaky skin and breakouts and pimples. How is that possible? |

Whats your current skincare routine consist of?
It is possible, for example if you use alcohol toners, they strip the oil from your skin and dry it out, so that the skin can flake. Yet the body will produce more oil in response to the dryness.
So its a catch 22 situation. To better help you we need to know what you are doing skin wise.
You may need to use a moisturiser of a different kind.

Your skin condition is not uncommon.
You notice the part of the face where you shave is not flaky because of exfoliation.
When your skin is oily, do not be tempted to use a gel wash that foams up too much, it will dry your skin and cause more oiliness as a result of your skin's natural response.
Your cure will include the following:
Gentle cleanser, try Nivea Cleansing Gel for Men for SENSITIVE SKIN (it's a yellow gel)
An exfoliation lotion 3-4 times a week on area of your face NOT being shaved. Try Paula's Choice 8% AHA Skin Perfecting Lotion
Use a good moisturiser, try Avene Hydrance Optimale Light Hydrating Cream
Your skin will improve dramatically in 3-4 weeks.
Come back for Antiaging advice once your skin is balanced and start to feel comfortable and if antiaging is a concern. |

You should also use a sunscreen or something with sunscreen during the day.
If you don't you can eventually get a lot of skin damage from the sun and UV rays you can not see.
Same if you do a lot of sports outdoors, the sun reflection, even in winter can give you more skin problems. |

it is definitely possible..it is probably called combination skin..
i used to think i have dry skin until i talk to sales in skincare counter. and she told me i have oily t zone with large pores, while on my cheeks there is redness and dry..
it means when i apply the heavy cream, i should avoid the t zone.. |

Jacob you have combination skin with break outs with dry patches. Check out Paula's Choice.com where they have a 2% BHA (beta hydroxy acid) in liquid form will clear your skin and flakes in no time. Theres lots of good info over there. And cust service is stellar. |

Hey Jacob, hope you're still here to read this! It's most likely due to the severely dry skin that you get the outbreaks in the first place. Simply use a moisturizer (Nivea has a fantastic one for men) and I promise it will be much better. Good luck! |

To balance the Dry and oiliness, and the acne, I think go for products with Lactic Acid.
EG REN Wake Wonderful Night-time Facial 40ml |

I am surely not an expert on this...
But my husband with combination skin too, and he find that if he use a gentle cleanser it helps with dryness. Also the most important thing is to use a daily/morning moisturizer with at least a SPF 15 in it. And his cleanser of choice is Cetaphil. |

Skin water shortage is easy to cause many problems, first of all, to water the skin, so that the skin will not dry, and then choose the appropriate cosmetics according to their skin. |
