Hi there,

Could you give the the rundown on the differences between Retin A, Retin A Micro and Renova?

One thing I think I understand is that the micro is slow release so doesn't irritate as much. Still as effective? What about Renova?
I need something for light wrinkles, and sun damage.
Would appreciate any feedback

Oh, and what the heck is Granactives???
Just started seeing this word here. lol

Thanks!!

You are correct on micro, it is released more slowly. Still effective.

Renova is a trade name. Still retin a, but in a more moisturizing base. May be better for dry skin.

Granactive uses a non prescription form of retinoid, known as hydroxypinacolone retinoate (HPR). Known to be less irritating, but not too many studies demonstrating whether it helps with anti aging.

If you need something for light wrinkles, consider starting with .025 retin a cream or a HPR serum, either The Ordinary or Mad Hippie Vitamin A serum.

Reports suggest Retin-A micro is less irritating as well as more effective at increasing collagen/reducing wrinkling than Renova or Retin-A standard.
