DIY skincare is never a good idea.

Skincare is something that's best left to the professionals who test and validate the efficacy of the products they sell to you.

I disagree Organicskincare55. DIY skincare is a growing field and for most people its more cost effective to DIY skin care stuff ourselves. That way we know exactly whats in the items we are using and there are no hidden chemicals or nasties. Plus there is a lot of informationa vailable nowadays. I think DIY skincare should be encouraged if people want to learn it, then why not?

Hi Organicskincare55,

Thank you for sharing your opinion. I disagree completely. I have used DIY skin care throughout my entire adult life. I am 61 and IMHO my skin condition is great. I've only used high quality ingredients, I've eliminated synthetic chemicals and all for a fraction of the cost of retail and med-spas.

One must be well informed to practice DIY, however we only began purchasing retail skin care in about the past 100 years or so and our ancestors made their own personal care products for at least a millenium.

Please only share informed opinions so that you do not mislead others. Provide the references that support your comment.

Take good care of yourself!

The only DIY skin thing I still do is plain argan oil. I spend plenty on other products though...
