Ok, I just went through all (14 pages!!!) of the DIY sticky and I am ready to jump in and start making my own skincare.

Has anybody attempted to make serums similar to IS Clinicals? In particular I am interested in the ProHeal and Active Serums.

Here are the ingrediants:

Active Serum by IS Clinical
Ingredients: ultra-purified water, butylene glycol, sd alcohol 40, 8% glycolic acid, 2% lactic acid, 2% salicylic acid, 1% arbutin glycoside, 0.5% kojic acid, menthol, triethanolamine, hispagel, phenoxyethanol

Pro Heal Serum by IS Clinical
Ingredients: distilled water, 15% vitamin C, SD alcohol, laureth-4, zinc sulfate, propylene glycol, 1% vitamin E,1% vitamin A, standardized olive leaves extract, 0.5% kojic acid, 0.5% arbutin, soluble bioflavinoids, phenoxyethanol

I would greatly appriciate any suggestions as to a formula.

Thanks so much!!

I think I recall somebody making a serum that sounds similar to the Pro Heal Serum. At least, I remember her mentioning something about Vit-E and Vit-A. You might try performing a search of the forum using “vitamin E” and/or “vitamin A” as the key words. I wish I could remember the name of the member who was fooling around with those more complicated serums...I want to say it was Diann (Diane? Dianne?), but I’m not certain.

Another alternative would be to post your question on the advice forum atwww.thepersonalformulator.com as I’m told those folks are very helpful over there....

Wasn't me....Sorry, I'm not familiar with IS Clinical. I've made a glycolic acid cream, a vit C serum, and a serum containing DMAE, HA, Green tea, seaweed extract, argireline and matrixyl. I've also made a DMAE/ALA cream with Vit. E but not a serum...I don't know how to incorporate an oil based ingredient to a water based serum.
