I order this, Ascorbic acid pure vitC powder, with no extra ingredients..etc..will that work for my homemade vitC serum? I herd it must be L-ascorbic acid...?!?! whats the diffrence? Can I still use the ascorbic Acid i bought?

Hi Ejay,

Well ... it's not quite the same thing. Ascorbic acid is the "umbrella" term for Vitamin C ... and it's made up of l-ascorbic acid, which is the "active" part of ascorbic acid, and d-ascorbic acid, which is useless for the skin.

I'm sure if you contact the manufacturer you'll discover that the ascorbic acid that you've ordered is, in fact, l-ascorbic acid. Indeed, I can't imagine any company selling d-ascorbic acid ... because according to my research, neither the body nor the skin can use it. Still ... it's always a good idea to check.
