Hi Everyone
I recently purchased some Epidermix microdermabrasion, with the Camellia Silk Oil and the Derma Butter.
I have been using this now for just over a couple of weeks - twice a week.
I love how soft my face feels after putting the Camellia Oil on but I have noticed that I am getting large patches of VERY dry skin either side of my nose and onto my cheeks?
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal - is it the old skin coming away while the new skin comes through??
TIA

I've been using it about 6 weeks, no problems yet. Are you are heavy-handed more near your nose and cheeks??? |

I also have been using the epidermex for about a month. I have had absolutely no problems with it and I have very dry skin. |

Hmmmm, I suppose that I am a bit heavy handed round my nose and cheeks - I think it's because I am subconciously thinking that this is where my driest bits are so I have to rub harder - maybe not!!
I shall try to be a little gentler there!!
Thanks

I have the same problem with epidermx. my skin is normally dry -prior to ever using epidermx -but now my cheeks have dry "patches" I only used it once....not sure if i want to risk using it again....
unless i find a really good remedy for the dry patches. the camellia oil just isnt working well on this problem. i love how epidermx made my skin "feel" really smooth but it "looks" rough -especially on the cheeks....weird |

So do you girls think that I should hold off on trying it until the summer if I have really dry skin? |

hm....
I just tried it on the back of my hand. No dead skn fell off tho.... but it feels smooth afterward. I wonder how hard you are supposed to scrub/massage it.
And also, the crystal is finer than dr brandt microderm in a jar. And I never had any dead skin fell off from using dr. brandt either. |

I think you should atleast try the epidermix. I really do have very dryskin and it has been fine for me. Although I do only use it once a week and I do put on the camelia oil and a moisturizer after it.
I think it makes my skin look alot healthier and alot less dry.
Good Luck |

Do you always experiencing your dead skin peeling off when yuo use epidermx?.
Like I said, I never got any dead skin peeled off using dr brandt, and I feel like the crystals are harsher. |

I'm harder around my nose too, I have to remember to use the same pressure everywhere. |

I do always get dead skin off from using the epidermix. It probably takes about 5 minutes of rubbing and then the product sort of dries and the dead skin comes off. I don't rub really hard, but I am not really gentle either (somewhere inbetween).
If you try it, let me know what you think.
Also, have you tried the derma butter. I have not purchased that, but I have heard some great comments about it.

tthagen1: I have never tried dermabutter.
Hm... with epidermx, when I tried it, I kinda stopped scrubbing when it dried out. Maybe I will try to keep rubbing even after it dries next time. |

For me, I think I rub a little too hard as my face almost goes a little numb??!! Although I was gentler than the first time I tried and I haven't had as much dry skin appear....
It does take around 3-5mins though to get the pencil shaving effect with the dead skin though.

so, i tried my epidermx sample again today. I scrubbed a bit longer and harder. Finally some stuff came out. It looks like dry skin that just peeled off. But it is hard to believe there is a lot of this stuff came off of my face. Is it really the dead skin, or is it dried cream? |

Is scrubbing that hard good for the skin?? I received a sample of the Epidermx when I ordered the camellia oil and I did get that pencil shaving effect but my skin felt a little numb afterward, too. I thought I read somewhere (don't remember where ) that scrubbing too hard could cause broken capillaries?? Does anyone know if this is true? I use gentler scrubs ...lately been using Jason Vita-C Max 1 min. Facial. It's kind of a cross between a scrub and mask and works well on my combo skin. |
