Don't worry about it...we're not going to pick you apart here!

But keep in mind that by continuing to purchase from her, you are telling her that her horrid behavior is acceptable. Confused

Regarding this statement: "If her products werent so amazing.." I have used several products from SAS, and frankly they were NOT amazing, so please don't let her brainwash you. The only product I have continued to purchase is ELS, but the other products just didn't work for me. There are lots of other options out there for you!

You'd think she'd be nicer to her customers considering a picture is worth a 1000 words... I don't mean that to be bitchy, I'm just drawing the conclusion (based on what I see), that with all those goodies at her disposal, she hasn't found any miracles.

Maybe she should get a LED Laughing

Wow 'erg'! I usually agree with everything you write, but I think you missed the mark a bit here.

Topic name is "SAS bad 1st impression". Miss C was the one treated "rudely", and from what I've seen, many more are in the same boat on that forum.

Since 'Dr Hannah' is the one behind all the rudeness, sarcasm, locked threads and so on, I think it's only fair that the folks that are responsible for her *pay day*, have every right to share their experiences good or bad.

Not sure what posts exactly you refer to as "hitting below the belt", but if by chance it was the link I provided, just keep in mind that I wasn't the person who put it out there for all the world to see.

Anyhoo, I believe when folks are in the business of selling their products to the masses, then their customers certainly have the right to share their experiences whether they be positive or negative.

Sheeeiit! Just look at the grief I've experienced here in the last year, just for sharing ideas + thoughts for *free*. Laughing Laughing Laughing

You know I luv ya, but I had to speak my mind here... Wink

Hi Kassy - thanks for speaking your mind. I respect you very much.

I totally agree we should talk openly about product and customer service - that is why I participated in the thread to begin with.

I was just saying that regardless of how rude she may be, none of us should talk about how she looks. That is what I felt was not cool. That's all.

I typed my post rather quickly, I am glad I could clarify here.

I hope that makes sense,
Smile

I have bought a limited number of (not very impressive) items from SAS. The fact that the founder/owner is apparently a dingbat would not dissuade me from repurchasing, but if she had insulted me in a forum, yeah, I would take my business elsewhere. Not being nearly as nice as the rest of you, I am tempted to go over there now to see if I can have fun.

When a woman is, say, CEO of a company or running for public office, I do take umbrage if her looks are criticized. But here's someone who is literally the face of a company that purports to provide the best skin care products in the world, and commenting on the apparent efficacy of those products seems appropriate to me. (I have to wonder at her lack of judgment in using herself as a model though.)

I'm not condoning Dr. Hannah's treatment of MissCleopatra which I think is nasty and unprofessional, but I guess I'm the only one who finds it refreshing that someone selling skincare hasn't pumped themselves full of botox or gotten a face lift and then claimed it was all due to the products. Does anyone know Hannah's age? Maybe she's 80 - in which case she looks pretty good.

I think also that Hannah's interest is in the actual science of the products. She may not be that "in to" her own skin care if that makes sense!

You aren't alone! Smile I may purchase a few ingredients depending on quality and price, but I have just avoided the forum totally so as not to deal with any issues there. There are many places to do your research without having to deal with anything that goes on at the forum there.
We sure don't know her age so it's pretty difficult to judge?

Heck, I would buy via her ebay auctions just so that you could leave her negative feedback after that.

This is a little passive-aggressive but personally I don't have a problem with it.Bad Grin Laughing Bad Grin

Where else can you actually rate her on all aspects of the sale without having to read a big thread here? Bad Grin

I actually don't look at it as passive aggressive at all...it's just selectively picking from her various sales outlets and using the one that lets the buyer be heard the loudest! Plus anything less than 5 stars on the ratings causes her ebay discounts to be reduced, and she should feel some pain for acting like such a biotch! And regardless of where you actually buy, the pre-sales experience should be reflected in the seller's feedback. I just wish we could rate sellers in more venues than ebay!

Okay, this is my very first post ever on any site. I have been scared to death of making a mistake and being chastised for it. I have been reading this forum for weeks and keep seeing the message at the bottom of the screen "you haven't posted to our forum yet"....too darn scared.

You guys have made me feel confident about posting. I'm thinking maybe if I ask a stupid question or one that has already been asked that it might be okay.

There, my first post.....I'm not a virgin anymore. Smile

Just want to say that quietly in the background I'm learning alot from all of you.

Just my opinion, any seller of actives to be either added to a base they sell or used for DIY should supply all information available on that active.
What I expect as an example would be the following (there are links to more info as well)

http://www.makingcosmetics.com/Actives-Cosmeceuticals/Anti-Aging-amp-Anti-Wrinkle-Agents/Argireline-p14.html

Description
Description: Peptide that inhibits proteins (SNARE complex) & release of adrenalin & noradrenalin in neuronal cells in the skin, inhibiting facial skin muscle tightening, a mechanism responsible for wrinkle formation. Activity: contains 0.05% argireline in water. Clear liquid, odorless. Water-soluble. CAS# 616204-22-9.

INCI Name: Acetyl hexapeptide-3.

Properties: Works through a unique mechanism which relaxes facial tension leading to a reduction in superficial facial lines & wrinkles with regular use. In clinical studies depth of wrinkles were reduced by 27% following 30 days of treatment & new formation of wrinkles was inhibited as well. Can be combined with Tripeptide-5, Collagen Booster Peptide and Teprenone for enhanced anti-wrinkle treatment.

Use: Add to aqueous phase of formulas best >100F/40C (creams, lotions, gels etc). Typical use level is 5-10%. Store in refrigerator.

Application: Anti-aging / anti-wrinkle creams, lotions, & gels. Protective creams, sun care & after sun products.

More Information: MSDS, Fact Sheet, Sample Recipe, Article

Ditto on that Darkmoon. When buying an active you should be provided with that information (kind of like the same set of instruction you would get with a ready made product). However for some reason Hannah saw it fit not to provide me with that information, dosent really make me feel inclined to purchase from them again. The Personal Lotion Crafter offers the same kind of information summary, which is yet another reason why I love it so much Smile

Hello DarkMoon:
My opinion exactly. When a company spends most of its funds on marketing there’s not much left over for the product itself. I believe DIY is much a better route if your expecting to see any results (people do expect to see results otherwise they would not invest in topically based skincare). Companies rarely include the same concentration of active ingredients in the end product as they have in research.

I am twenty four and have been extremely ritualistic with my skincare ever since the age of twelve. I have done a little bit of modeling so the need for good skincare has always been very important to me. I recently visited a relative in hospital a month ago and the doctor asked me if I was the youngest in my family… I am not even nearly the youngest. I draw these compliments down to the use of topicals (containing researched concentrations). My siblings look allot older than their real age. I have definitely not experienced the full ravages of age yet but always get accused of being seventeen, so that a good seven years younger. I really do believe that the use of topicals can provide dramatic results just not at the concentration companies use in department store products.
