Hey everyone!
just before I go to bed, I've been kind of thinking of reverting completely to organic cosmetics. I've used mineral make-up (Bare Escentuals)...I like it for the most part, but I don't like the super powdery foundation...the bismuth that causes the irritation...and plus, it may cover the redness of my mild acne, but it sure adds a nice shine to it making people think I'm wearing a nose-ring instead of having one large zit on my nose...HAHA.
I've been thinking about reverting my eyeliner too, which is prone to smudging and I *know* it will smudge if I use an organic one that isn't smudge/water-resistant. Blah.
I read somewhere on here that Milk of Magnesia is really good for balancing oily skin?
(Yes, I'm extraordinarily oily). Is it safe? I need to do some research, I guess.
Don't know...any thoughts?
Have you used organic cosmetic brands before? ):
It's a shame they get pretty pricey...since I only make my money from my summer job. My mother doesn't really like paying for my cosmetics. Then again, I wouldn't like to pay for hers, either .
Just thinking...thanks for your time!

I have only had experience with Kosmea in the way of natural skin care and have to say that I am very impressed with this line. It is suitable for oily skin and does not cause breakouts. |

Dr Hauschka liquid eyeliner is the most smudge-proof natural eyeliner I've ever come across - it's worth checking out if you're interested. |

make sure you are not sensative to anything that they have in them-i found out the hard way and my skin is slowly recovering-i used Jurlique and Yonka for months and then got really red. i can only use the eye gel and I can only use Jane Iredale liquid. Alot of people are allergic to the Bismuth in mineral makeup |

Hi Tia
There are other mineral makeups out there ... without bismuth ... and which are very reasonable prices.
There's a difference between "organic" and "natural". Generally, if the tag "organic" is on a makeup/skin care line, it's more expensive.
If I were you, I'd investigate the DIY thread at the top of this board for some very effective home crafted skin care.
Milk of Magnesia is very safe for your skin. It's very drying as well. It makes a great mask for oily skin ... and some people use it in a very thin coating as a makeup primer.
Any eyeshadow can become an eyeliner. All you need is a good eyeliner brush and some water. You can use other liquids to make it more waterproof ... but I've found it always stays just fine with when I use hot water on the brush.
Good luck.

Thanks everyone...
I'll probably try to pick up some Milk of Magnesia...too bad I can't drive yet.
And the Dr. Hauschka liquid eyeliner. How much is it?
And Kosmea? I'll have to do some research.
I appreciate the responses. Thanks! |

You could read some stuff on Milk of Magnesia on Paula's Choice web-site or in her books. |

I paid $16 for the liquid eyeliner and it REALLY stays on - if only I had a steadier hand! |

No smudgies? Do you have oily skin? ):
I hate my eyeliner smudging. It's so annoying. |

I have very oily eyelids, actually, which is why I find it hard to find a good natural eyeliner that stays on! This is the only eyeliner (that's all natural) that doesn't rub off of my lids. |

Sounds pretty rad. :] Maybe I'll give it a try sometime.
What about organic foundations? :\ Or good mineral foundations. I'm sick of BE. It's too shiney and accents my zits. |
