What is it for? I'm clueless.
I have some MD Forte products that I got in the summer, but never used. The cleanser has glycolic acid in it, so I've started using it. Why? I don't know -- just sounds like I should.
If I leave it on, does it count as a sort of mini glycolic peel? |

It probably has a lesser concentration of glycolic acid than a peel. I guess I'm not a good one to answer this as I'm always the geek that follows product instructions. |

The strenght of peel you get from GA depends upon the concentration of the GA and the pH. Most formulations have less than 10% and pH of 5 or more. You would only get the most mildest of peel effects and even if it did have a lower pH, you skin would neutralise it in about 20-30 mins.
I doubt that your cleanser would do much in the way of peeling, but you should get a gentle exfoliation and would be good if you had flakey skin. If you have acne, then it is best used in conjunction with a bha like salicylic acid (asperin!).
Go VERY carefuly with home glycolic peels. They need precision timing and proper neutralising after. |
