Hi SandyMC,
Personally, I don't think there is one product that actually refines the skin and makes pores look smaller as I think it's a combined effort of using good skincare products, cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising properly and regularly. With pores in particular, I find that when I am dehydrated, my pores are enlarged (that applies to both internal and external dehydration). Also, I know that people with oilier skins tend to have larger pores as they are enlarged due to the oil production. It is important to determine what skin type you have before finding products that will best suit you.

Exfoliation is key as it removes dead skin cells that trap dirt and oil and one product I can recommend that is good for most skin types is the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. It's gentle enough to be used everyday after you cleanse, but I've found every second day is good. It is a fine, off-white powder which is activated on contact with water, so if you leave your face wet after cleansing, and work some powder in your damp/ wet hands before massaging it to your face, it will foam up quite nicely. It has a subtle but pleasant scent that reminds me of rice and incidently, this is the main ingredient in the product. A lot of people on the forum swear by this product as a great exfoliator as you can see from the many threads on it. Some people have also found that it can leave your skin a little taught after rinsing so they have to moisturise straight away. If you don't already have it, it is really worth looking into adding it to your regime, you'll like the results. Wink

I hope I've helped a little bit!

I second the vote for the Microfoliant (fab product!) and add to that a vote for the Decleor Essential Balm because, for me, it seems to be very effective at cleaning pores out (less blackheads).
