Before I drop a bunch of money, would anyone give me an honest review of "PREVAGE" by Elizabeth Arden? Thx. [/b]

Hi SuzyZ - Prevage is made by Allergan I believe, not Elizabeth Arden. I tried it last year but didn't feel like it did anything positive for my 53 year old face. Plus, I didn't like the sticky texture (my other layers, i.e. sunscreen and makeup, would ball up when applied over it) and it clogged my pores. There are other products I've since started using (thanks to the feedback on this forum) that HAVE improved my skin, and many are less expensive than Prevage.

But having said all that, there ARE Prevage mavens on this forum, and I think it's been reformulated since it first came out. Do a search -- I think katee and phredd like it. They can't say exactly what it is they like about Prevage, but have noticed their skin looks better when they use it as opposed to when they don't.

Prevage has been reformulated. The physician version is now called PrevageMD and has 1% Idebenone. Allergan did team up with Elizabeth Arden for a 0.5% Idebenone version and is just called Prevage and can be purchased in department stores. From what I've heard the new formulations are now translucent and the texture is much more elegant and more tolerant to the skin than the original Prevage. I had stocked up, so I am sill using the original version. I can't wait to try the new PrevageMD.

I have used the original Prevage for over a year with no side effects except for some initial dryness(lasted only the first day). I did not purge or have any other issues. My skin looks so much younger when I use it faithfully. I had tried various Vitamin C products, but none gave me the benefits I've received from Prevage. My skin seems more toned, even, fine lines subdued and just generally looks more radiant. I don't have hyperpigmentation so I don't know how well it works there.

Unfortunately like m.april said, Prevage does not seem to work well for most people. Lucky me! Very Happy Try to get a sample from your department store or investigate store policies to make sure you can return it if you buy a full size.

Good luck!

-Cheri

ETA: I think the physician formula is still 1 oz for about $115, but the EA version is 1.7 oz for around $150.

Thanks for the feedback - I'm actually looking for an anti-aging skin product that I can use at night - After moisturizer(hyaluronic acid serum)and La Roche Posay tinted sunblock, I have no room for anything else for daytime use. Anything else would gum it all up!!! My skin is amazing for my age and I have very minor hyperpigmentation - I'm just trying to keep it that way without surgery. Impossible right???????
