Right now, I am using True Cosmetics Soothing Toner, which I am enjoying. Hydrating, soothing, and prepares my skin for other products.

I'm still using my Eminence Organics Wild Plum toner. I like it because it's natural, gentle and has some salicylic acid to help keep skin clear. I'm also alternating this with the PSF toner.

Decleors Matifying Lotion
Homemade ACV toner
ACV straight

I alternate or use an ACV and the Decleor...depending on mood and need Smile

ACV Super Toner is all I've been using for the last year or so....Although I do admit to changing up each batch by using a different combo of essential oils or blend of tea (right now, I’m using a blend of chamomile and Roobios tea!) so it doesn't get boring!

Question about toners. I often wonder if the traces of make up left on my skin after I cleanse (that I later find when I use a toner) maybe what is causing my small breakouts??? Any suggestions on toners that remove ALL impuritites? PSS: although I love the idea that some of you make your own products (I only do the asprin mask) I am curious about a product to cleanse all my impurities, that you can buy.
Thanks

Are you finding that there are traces of a fair bit of makeup after you cleanse? If so then I would recommend trying another cleanser. What are you using if you don't mind me asking?

I quite like my Eminence cleanser and it does leave my skin really clean without drying it out. Dr Hauchka has a clarifying toner that would fit the bill as well. Also, Kose Medicated Sekkisei comes to mind.

Hi Mabsy
Yes small traces of make up. I have noticed this with most cleansers I use. I use a couple. I use Dermalogica, True and MD Formulations. Not all together, but I switch. I did find last night I tried mixing a small bit of baking soda in my Dermalogica and created a paste, (I am not big into heavy scrubs as they irritate my hives) but I noticed that I had a very small amount of make up on my cotton ball after cleansing and applying toner. Maybe I just missed a couple spots and that is why I had traces. I think I might be "deactivating" the cleanser though by using baking soda. What do you think?

Adding baking soda to your cleanser just ads some exfoliating effect. Although Carrie mentioned something about it changing the pH of the skin I think - I'm not too sure about that. She would be better to ask than me - she's the queen of DIY Smile In theory adding exfoliation should actually make it more effective at removing makeup. Do you wear waterproof makeup or heavy makeup perhaps?

Hi Mabsy
No, I do not wear heavy makeup. I wear mineral make up. (powder). I remove my eye make up with a specific eye make up remover before hand. I don't put the baking soda near my eyes. I have read before that the baking soda can (or does) change the PH in your skin. So I am now using a PH toner. We will see. I have noticed a huge change in my complexion, with just a couple days use. I really think a lot of my blemish problems are just with my skin being oily and the any make up I use (including mineral) seems to get down in my pores and maybe my cleansers have not been removing all the traces of make up.? Just a theory. Thanks for your help
