Does anyone know? I don't know where I came up with that idea, but is it true? I'm not very good at searching, couldn't find anything about this. Maybe it came out of one my weird skin-care related dreams. |

Hi Mogwai,
There are lots of cautions about using Vitamin C at the same time as using a retinoid [trentenoin]... which is the prescription version of retinol. This isn't because they work against each other, but rather because they do similar things.
By adding an acid [Vitamin C serum] you accentuate the effect of the Retin-A or Tazorac. I'm not sure that the same thing would be true when Vitamin C is combined with a cosmetic retinol.
When I use my Retin-A [trentenoin] at night, I don't use Vitamin C until the next morning.
However, when I put my Vitamin C on in the morning, I can use my eye cream with retinol with no problem.
Hope this helps.
