I did not see any talk about make up tips and tricks for good applications. The reason I bring this up, is because this morning while I am putting on my eyes, I decided to try the "smokey" look that I often see on people. Some people really have a great technique for applying it. I tried this morning and I seem to look like a raccoon. Anybody have suggestions to make it look "smokey" and not like I have two black eyes? |

I use a tiny tipped brush from MAC for blending the eyeshadow. I make sure that the undereye area is very moisturized to reduce flaking and to set the shadow. Then I apply undereye concealer AFTER applying the shadow with MAC's concealing brush. It sets off the eyes and helps you focus on ridding any stray areas of shadow. I agree that it's better to start with slightly lighter shades to get the hang of it. |

To get a smokey look I line my eyes in black eyeliner pencil and then "smudge" it with the spongey end of my jane iredale eyeliner/brow brush. You could also try using your pinky finger or a q-tip. |
