I got a sample of emu oil with a recent order, and I never thought of putting oil on my acne prone skin. I dont have oily skin but do have mild acne here and there. Its been so cold here and my skin is really dry around the mouth and chin. My normal lotion didnt do the trick, so I decided to try the emu oil sample.
I love it! I saw a difference in one night. I put it on again in the morning and it was not even oily during the day.
I see no breakouts!!!! I have just order a full size. Has anyone else try this????? |

| Yes - Emu, Camellia, Squalene, kukuki <sp?> are all regular moisturizing oils I use. Love em all. Soak right in, not at all slimy. I pat a few drops of which ever oil strikes my fancy that day under my makeup and again <lightly> after I'm done. Gives me a glow without being shiny. |

I love Camellia Oil. Was using it before started Obagi. I even put it on my hair after washing. Just the ends and it makes it really soft and I can go longer in between cuts. I also put it on my heals and no cracking even during the winter.
It is just wonderful and so many uses!
alot of people love Jojoba oil as well. |

I'm new to this forum and DIY stuff. Can anyone tell me the difference between essential oils and carrier oils??? What the uses are for both.
From reading the other post it seems to me that all essential oils are for smells like aroma therapy and are just added essentials in different products for your senses. Carrier oils are what really carries the moisture to your skin. Can someone tell me if I'm right????
I wanted to know how to make rose water???? (Or any other type of water) Is this something you have to buy or can you DIY?????
When it says you need to dilute the oils(essential and carriers) do you just do this with water????? |

In a nutshell - yes, you have it right, on the EO v/s CO.
If you do a search on the net for DIY "rosewater" or whatever it is you're looking for I'm pretty confident you'll find a ton of sites.

| Emu Oil is fantastic for arthritis and rheumatism! I bought a bottle of it for my mom for Xmas and she says that it takes the ache out of her painful places better than any topical analgesic (i.e.: "Ben Gay" or "Icy Hot") AND OTC pain relievers like Aleve, Tylenol or Advil. The side-benefit, she reports, is the stuff makes her hands incredibly soft and smooth as well! Seriously, if you have any type of "orthopaedic" or arthritic ache or pain, you should try rubbing the area with Emu oil and see what happens. My only gripe is the stuff is wickedly expensive compared to most other carrier oils. |

Essential oils are NOT just for aroma therapy purposes or to make your homemade products smell nice. Each essential oil has specific purposes and can address specific skin care needs (they also treat physiological ailments as well when used in massage therapy because they penetrate the tissues of the body and enter the bloodstream where they are transported to the various organs and/or systems of the body.

Essential oils are the highly, super-concentrated essence of the various plants (flowers, twigs, leaves, bark, or fruit rind) from which they are extracted. It is a highly time and labor intensive effort to extract these EOs, and some oils are more difficult than others to process hence the reason that some EOs are significantly more expensive than others.
Because essential oils are the super-concentrated essence from the plant, one should NEVER EVER apply any essential oil (with the possible exception of Tea Tree Oil or Lavender EO) to one’s skin without diluting it in some sort of carrier liquid.
Carrier oils both serve to carry moisture in to your skin, but they also serve to dilute the essential oils so that they can be safely applied to the skin.
I used to think that essential oils and massage therapy was a bunch of new age hokum, but I am now one of the believers that they actually do work as a result of my experiments in creating homemade skin care products and have been busy amassing a collection of EOs ever since. Now when I become sick or don’t feel quite well, before popping some sort of pharmaceutical remedy, I first look to the essential oils to see if I have something that will remedy whatever is ailing me at the time. |

Thank you all! For the great advise and help. I just brought a 16oz of emu oil to try some DIY. I'll keep you guys posted on any creations. ***Starting to feel like a real witch***LOLs (I mean this in a good way)

| Rosewater can be used as a toner, it is best suited to normal/sensitive dry skin. |

I love it. There is an EMU farm near my house....did I mention I live next to NOWHERE? <sigh> I do miss D.C. 
Anywho, the guy there sells his oils which he gets processed by the University of Arizona. Sweet lug of a guy. I love his oil, but I have been using Jojoba recently and I like it better for day use. The EMU was just to oily for me during the day.
Next time I see him I'll probably buy another small bottle. He sells little ones for about 4 dollars. Lasts for awhile if you use it just for your face.  |

Would that be a left or right turn when you get to Nowhere? 
I have been using alot of EMU and Avacado these days. I'm pretty lucky in that I don't have to deal with alot of blemishes or sensitive skin. Downside is especially in the winter I am dry, dry, dry. You name it, I've used it. I've actually finally found some hydrating sprays I can use during the day that won't disperse my makeup. I have been as of the last 2 weeks or so dab a bit of avacado oil under eyes and a few drops of emu to my cheeks and my 11's once my makeup is on then spritz Burt Bee's carrot oil hydrating spray. Been working for me. Though the smell of the EMU is disgusting and well won't even begin to describe what it looks like to me, lol.
$4.00 for how small a bottle? Stuff is pretty pricey for me (not alot of EMU's in town I suppose ) |

Whilst looking for something to heal what turned out to be a large scar on my forehead following a fall, I tried Emu Oil. I had tried a lot of other things with no results but I have to say the Emu Oil has made a huge difference within a week and is now almost gone..so relieved.
I now have included it in the moisturiser that I make for myself for oily skin and I have the best, most clear and smooth skin ever

I am terrible with sizes (which is probably a plus for my man) Bahahahaha!! I am kidding. Ok, size...eh, maybe 2 1/2 inches tall and is shaped like a mascara tube. Does that help? These are his samplers and he sells bigger. If you'd like I can dig up his price list? Let me know! |

Yeah - if you can that would be great, don't go to any trouble though. Just that a small bottle here is pretty expensive, maybe I'll find a cheaper source from you! |

Fifib: How long did it take to get rid of a scar was it raised, white or colored. I have been using emu oil for hair and skin but have never tried it on scars and I've got over 42" of them. I've tries many things but no topical (silicone, allocin etc.) has been truely good.
How long did it take. |
