Hi CatMoms,

I saw a previous post where you all showed pictures of your kitties and aren't they adorable! I have a great cat named Theo, he looks alot like Morris from TV. We got him from a shelter and it took us a year to get his diarrhea under control. Just this past week (it's been 1 1/2 yrs.) I figured out how to solve his itchy back and legs and stop his fur pulling. He literally had "racing stripes" down his back that are finally coming back in. He is like a new kitty! I am so proud of this and wanted to share on other boards with other cat owners. I tried 2 posts on pet forums and already one of them got removed as spam!! I'm TO'd! How could I let people know without mentioning the product name? I'm so used to sharing on this site with product names and websites. I'm really bummed...

as long as you don't sell it or are affiliated with the product I don't see why you can't mention the name... I could be wrong tho..you never know how people take things.

Yeah, that's what got me steamed. In the beginning of the post I made sure to say "I am not a distributor and I am not affiliated with the product in any way, just a satisfied customer.."

Maybe some of the pet forums get spammed more often or I need some insight into some better forums to post on Rolling Eyes

Maybe if you posted on the forum for a few weeks or days to show that you're a "real person" they would be less likely to delete your posts. I know when I see a post going on about a particular product with links to a site to buy it at and it's the posters first post I get suspicious. If the poster has 20 posts on other topics, however, I'm inclined not to see it as spam.

I guess you are right chimera. I was hoping to get around that by being up front. Mostly, I am just frustrated because I have something great to share but not alot of time. You'd laugh if you knew what a horrible salesperson I really am! Laughing

Yes, I think chimera's idea's a particularly good one.

Actually, I'm just about to use a special gadget in about 20 minutes time that I bought for my cat's Christmas present. I'm sure she's going to absolutely hate it, as it's a means of taking her to the vet's, though!

It's a "kitty stroller", and I'm going to look pretty stupid wheeling her along there in it, but at least it should be a heck of a lot easier than trying to walk there whilst trying to carry her in her heavy carrier box.

Anyway, the (long-winded) point I'm making is that it took me absolutely ages to find out where to get hold of a reasonably-priced one of these things, so I'm definitely all for sharing knowledge about little products or gadgets that might make our pets' lives a wee bit easier or happier.

Glad to hear that Theo is doing so well with his new treatment. Very Happy

(And wish me luck for our very first kitty stroller outing!)

So...are you gonna tell us about the holy grail or not?! *stamps foot in frustration*

One of my cat’s is REALLY high strung (she’s a almost-purebred Seal Lynx Ragdoll – did I get the name right, Gucci?) and in addition to allergies for which the vet prescribed 3CCs of liquid children’s “Benedryl” twice daily, Mona also has a nervous grooming habit whereby she’s managed to pull out all of the fur on her back “ankles” – she seriously looks like one of the ladies from the Roaring 90s wearing a pair of those petticoat-bloomers under her long fur coat!! Shock It looks really funny because her fur is so long all over the rest of her body but she’s completely bare right around her little ankles – it almost makes me want to buy her a little gold ankle bracelet to show off her trim little calves!! Wink Very Happy

Seriously, PNW, what is this feline holy grail that you’ve found?

ROFL Laughing

CareKate, Bless you for brightening my day Cool

I'd love to see a photo of your cat. Theo is your average run of the mill orange tabby and the poor thing has been preoccuppied with licking and biting at his paws, hind legs, back and tail since we got him. I thought he might have irritable bowel because of his runs. He especially does this when he gets excited, like when he is playing so he tries not to be active and has gotten chubby. He looks like a penguin sitting on an egg when he sits. It's like he is aggravated. For the longest time I did not see any signs of dermatitis or dry skin. When we took him to the vet, we got the typical answer - it could be anxiety (psychological), food allergies, or allergies to flea bites. We stayed on top of any flea potential, found a food he could tolerate well and did not want to put him on anti-depressants. He is a smart cat and won't take medicine anyway. One time at the vet it took 3 of us to hold him down to "pill" him and the little bugger coughed it back up and spit it out on the table! Aside from that last part, if any of this sounds like your kitty I hope this helps. We came across it by accident at our local pet health food store.

Grizzly Wild Salmon Oil: one squirt added to food in the morning.

I don't know if there is something special about this salmon oil vs others but if you go to their website they have a special bottling process. I REALLY hope this helps at least one more concerned mommy and kitty.
