Hi I have a old scar on my face which has caused me a great deal of anguish over the years. Anyways I am emotionally ready to try to do something about it. The only fear is that it becomes worse than it is now. I refered to 4 dermatologists. Two of them recommeneded dermabrasion and the other two discouraged it. Anyways I understand that there is risks with trying anything but I just feel like I would like to know some personal info or some idea of the pros and cons about trying this. Also I am tan skin complexion so laser therapy was not really recommended. Thanks

You've consulted with four dermatologists, but what about a cosmetic surgeon? It would be more expensive, but if it bothers you that much, cosmetic surgery has advanced to the point where a good surgeon can almost erase a facial scar.Smile

Hi,
I was wondering do you mean "micro-dermabrasion"? I also heard some good and bad story of it. Generally, it uses some micro-seeds to remove the dead skin on your face, and polish your skin at the same time. Therefore, after a few operations, the imperfection of your skin can be reduced. However, I also heard that if you have started the dermabrasion, you have to keep using it. For example, people need a few operations to see the results, and they may also need some treatments every year to maintain the results. Therefore, it could be costly. But I also heard some good results after people are trying it. I personally haven't tried, and those are some suggestions that from my friend's experience. Hope they help.

I use the best manual microdermabrasion out there IMO. It's called Epidermx. If you go to greatnewskin.com you can see my before and after photos under microdermabrasion message board. I am wendy aka wenron. It is the only thing that has attacked my deep forehead wrinkles, cleared up my acne, and diminishing my scars. Yes, you need to continue it, but lets face it, we will need to take care of our skin the rest of our lives if we want it to look good. I think you can still get samples from ebay for a few dollars, but not sure on that.

Good luck
