I recall that a few years back (probably before the forum upgrade) members were able to manage lists of topics they were watching. I.e. somewhere in the personal profile there was a page and it listed all topics that the user was watching and there the user could delete watched topics they no longer wanted to watch. I miss being able to do that and I can't find anywhere that gives me the option (maybe I'm missing something?).

I'm not sure about others here but I have been finding it a bit difficult to get my head around which topics I'm watching - I still get emails every so often about topics that I had no idea I was watching (because it was too long ago). It would be useful (IMO) if there was one central place to manage this, rather than having to go back to the original thread in order to "un-watch" it. I'm not sure if this is possible with the forum software that we have now but it would be nice Smile

Just a suggestion Angel

Your suggestion is a good one but I can't find anywhere to look at a list of watched topics. I had a look at my profile and the only option is to watch or not watch.
I normally want to watch for a while but not forever.

Bushy - yes, exactly. I don't have this functionality either anymore but I miss it, it made things a lot easier in terms of managing your watched topics. I'm hoping that EDS might be able to make it available again (pretty please! Very Happy)

Hi Mabsy,

This sounds like it would make things much easier.

As a side note... I think it would also be great if there was a way to search the site for certain topics. If you wanted to find all information on Ardell and what people said about it or read all topics on OCM, you could type it in the search engine and it would search just this site and bring up all related topics. Instead of having to go back and search through each page, which I have done and takes forever. Smile

cloe - there is a search function available (top right hand corner of the page, in between FAQ and Memberlist links. In that you have the option to show results by thread or show individual posts that contain your search word. You can also search by member who posted, as well as part of forum ets. HTH

I guess I should open my eyes and look around once in a while. Shock I can't believe I missed this.

Well, I'm glad I said something. Thank you Mabsy. This makes my life easier.

I'm going to go explore now and see what else I've missed!

Have fun! One functionality that would really be great in that search is to have the option to search for a word in the subject line ONLY, on top of being able to search the subject line and also message at the one time of course Smile

I agree! The subject line is often what I remember most about a certain thread.

Thanks heaps EDS! That makes it much easier now.

FYI all - there is now a "watched topics" link next to your "Profile" link where you can manage and inspect all posts you are currently watching.
