Posting your skin type, coloring, and any particular skin problems or sensitivities would really help. Also, are you looking for smoothing, anti-wrinkle, and skin softening, or a more aggresive routine, for sun-damage, deeper wrinkles, or hyperpigmentation?

Sorry - I'm kind of past the Anti, and into a little more of the aging. I'm into micros and IPL's at the local Laser Treatment Centre, although I haven't been there for a few months now (very expensive to keep up) I'm having great results with the PSF, Janson Beckett, Juvedical Eye serum and Valmont products!

Maybe someone who is still in the Anti stage would be better qualified to help. I use a little more agressive products than you might need.

PSF- Pure skin Formulations. Lots of feedback on this forum. Great products, but can only purchase from their website.
I see really good results from IPL but need to get 3 or 4 to see them. At $310 a pop Canadian it can get pricey! Sad Sad
I also get the occasional glycolic peel (40%).

Unfortunately, beauty doesn't come cheap Sad but these products & methods are working so I think it's worth it! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

GOOD LUCK!!!

My 2 cents (for what it's worth)....

- Use a RETINOL product at night (or at least every other night). I love Skinceuticals Retinol .5

- Use a Vitamin C Serum every morning. I love Skicneuticals Serum 15 (15% l absorbic acid)

- Exfoliate at least twice a week. I love Dermalogica's Microfoliant for gentle exfoliation (use this 2 times a week). Also love Oil of Olay's Micro-Peel (use this once a week).

Hope that helps a little.

Lori

I agree with Mom2. Vit. C and retinol products are great.
I use PSF Super Emergin C repair serum (20%) and use to use PSF Retinol Nite Repair, which I loved, but found it was a bit much for my skin with the micros and peels.
I use the Emergin C at nite now with the 02 serum and this works great for me.

Hi Mau,

I am currently using the Valmont renewing pack and the contour cellular eye and mouth cream. These products are great for my slighty oily, mature skin, because they absorb beautifully, do not leave an oily film and give me the hydration I need. They're coming pretty close to being my Holy Grails! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I just ordered the PSF 12%. Is the 20% really strong?

Hi Janie.
It depends on if you've used Vit.C serums or creams before. It's not too strong for me, but I used a 10% for 2 months before that, so I kind of worked my way up to it. I have not had any problems at all with the 20%. Try the 12% and if you have no problems with that then maybe you could move up to the 20%

Hope that helped!

I think there are lots of different products that you can be using. I'm 29 and doing the "anti" routine - have no wrinkles as yet but trying to keep them away for longer. I have normal sometimes combo skin.

AM
cleanser
toner (optional)
vit C serum
hyaluronic acid based serum
Photolagen

PM
cleanser
toner (optional)
IS Clinical Poly-Vitamin serum
hyaluronic acid based serum
Photolagen

Also, of course, I add to that a regular exfoliating and "masking" routine, and I use an eyecream AM/PM. I will be changing this routine slightly because the IS Clinical (both AM and PM serums) are only samples. However, I have been for years and will continue to use a vitamin C serum in the morning. In the evening it's either going to be a high % glycolic acid product (like my MDF treatment) or a retinol.

Eye cream wise, my fave is the Cellcomet one, but it's very $$$. Murad make a great eyecream with SPF (Eseential C Eye Cream) which is great for day use. At night, the Cellcosmet or Babor Sensational Eyes or the Thalgo Revitalizing have been good. There's many others that I like as well though.

Most importantly of all, you need to use sunblock.

Sorry, I should have specified. Photolagen is a lotion made by Aminogenesis. I got a sample of it with my order last year and liked it enough to buy it Smile http://www.essentialdayspa.com/amino-genesis-photolagen-p_4110.htm It's supposed to be an all-round treatment for sun damaged or prematurely aging skin.

Sunblock, sunblock, sunblock every single day rain or shine. It's the #1 anti-ager.

Large-lensed sunglasses that wrap around the face and have brown or grey lenses. (This will help with crow's feet and under eye lines.)

Be careful of your facial expressions.

Retin-A or a retinol product.

Mabsy-thanks for the reply. And I agree with you all about the sunscreen. There is no better anti-aging remedy! Wish I would have known that 20 or 30 years ago! Sad Sad

Hi Mabsy,

I'm interested in the Photolagen for my sun damaged skin, but the site gives no information on usage. Can I use it with my actives such as Vit.C? Thanks for your help. Smile

Mabsy do you use the Photolagen after using your other serums?

I'm looking at ordering it and wondering about how to incorporate it in with my other products.

Hi Janie

I use JB's Skin Prep and ADCE for daytime, and Vit C at nite with PSF 02 before and after. I will be changing this routine to the Vit C in AM as I would like to incorporate PSF"s Retinol nite cream for PM with possibly one of the Valmont nite creams over top. I love the Valmont creams as they absorb really well and don't leave a film or greasiness after. Great for mature skin! The only down side is that they are pricy, but they are concentrated so last a long time. Very Happy

Mabsy,
Did you ever do a review of Photolagen? I am very curious about this product too. What specific results did you see? Is it basically a nice moisturizer?
Thanks,
Wild Cat

What are the ingredients in Photolagen? I was interested at one time but don't buy anything that doesn't list ingredients they're not available on the WEB are they on the package?
