I think pregnancy has brought on these ugly looking things. I've broken out in some skin tags on my neck and one underneath my eye! The one under my eye is really upsetting me, its not big or anything but I hate it! Is there any way to remove these, or will they go away on they're own after I give birth??

Hello
I had the same thing happen during my preg. Unfortunately mine did not go away on their own. I went in and my derm froze them off, with a (dry ice) type method. It was painless and quick and no scaring. I would not recommend home treatments.

the old fashioned way was to tightly tie a bit of cotton round them starving them of blood till they drop off and die!

Skintags do not go away on their own. They have to be removed, or they just keep growing. In most cases, they will eventually come back and will have to be removed again! Sad Sad

I had a couple of small tags on my stomach that I did tie off with some thread. (Tricky to lasso those little guys!) It took about a week or so and it was kind of weird having those little knots there but both of them did end up coming off in the end.

My girlfriend has had tags for years, and has been tying them off herself for as long as I can remember. Sometimes she just grabs them with her finger nails and pulls them off! None of this seems to have any adverse effects at all! Smile

I have read that Beta-Carotene helps rid the skin of tags. I wonder if there is any merit to this?

Hello,
I would suggest to go see a doctor.

My son had 2 skin tags under his armpit about 2 months ago. I used my hair to tie them and they fell off after a week.

If it's under your eyes I would suggest you to see a doctor.

I would NOT recommend this for the face, but I have some special nail clippers that I sterilize and use for the tags I get in my armpits. Works a treat.

I had one on my arm and used manicure scissors (I sanitized them first) and just trimmed it off. I put on some polysporin and it never came back. I wouldn't do that on my face though, I'd see a derm for them.

I would not recommend this for the face at all (go see a derm instead) but I just pulled one off about half an hour ago after I noticed it making a nice home for itself about two inches under my armpit. I just grabbed it with my nails and pulled it off. It didn't hurt and all that is left is a red dot where a tiny bit of blood had dried up. I've done this before and it never leaves a permanent mark on me.

You can get it quickly frozen off by a doctor.
If you want to try a home remedy I have successfully treated a mole and small skin tags with Super Cop (a strong copper peptide).
It did take about 3 months.

I used to have some little ones on my neck a few years ago. I figured that men must get them too, but that they probably don't get noticed because they just get shaved off. So I used a new disposable razor and followed that by applying some hydrogen peroxide.
They never came back. Smile

Are you sure the one under your eye is a skin tag?? I had many little bumps under my eyes. I do not remember exactly when did I have those but for sure it's after I gave birth to my daughter. My dermatologist told me they are my sweat gland walls. My sweat gland walls are too thick and they squeezed each other because not enough space for them. I had lazer zapped those about 14 years ago and some of them came back about 3 years ago (Not sure they are the old or new one). I'll have them zapped again very soon.

Well, not sure if its a skin tag or not, at first I thought it was milia, but after closer observation I just thought it was a skin tag because I've been breaking out in them all over lately. I hope its not something I have to have lazered, I had a bad experience with lazer and am terrified to do that again! Maybe after I have the baby I will get a reputable derm to check it out if it doesn't go away on its own. Its probably only visible to me anyways, I'm always examining my face in the 10X magnafying (sp) mirror which makes it look alot worse than it is! Rolling Eyes

I have just read this thread with interest, I never would have thought to tie string (or hair) around a skin tag, I think I will try this, thanks for the great tips Very Happy

I've had one on my neck since my last son was born 2 years ago. It didn't really bother me and I haven't really paid much attention to it. I started using Skinceuticals Retinol .5 about 3 weeks ago, and it was getting a little sensitive from the retinol. Well, it was there last night, and this morning it is gone.

Go Figure!

Hope it stays gone.....

You all are certainly brave to remove skin tags yourself. Think I'll stick to the skin doctor. Embarassed
