My skin has always been dry and every now and then I get these dry patches that look like big red spots. They are terribly unattractive and recently I've been getting serveral all over my legs!! (on my shin/calf area) They also seem to last for months!!
Does anyone else have this problem? Or know how to cure them?
Thanks! |

ps. in addition to using moisturizing soaps and heavy lotions, I apply Aquaphor healing ointment every night to each "spot."
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

ok, I finally caught up on my reading and hadn't realized this had already been discussed. I came upon carekate's posting and was amazed that other people had the same issue!
so from what I read..

Thanks for the advice, ladies! And thanks for bumping up this old topic, because just yesterday I had mentioned in another thread that I'd found something that is really helping with my nasty scaly leg patches: mango butter from TPF! Seriously, overnight it reduced one of the really hideously red and inflamed looking scaly patches to a healing pale pink and by this morning (Day 2), it was almost completely gone. |
..the mango butter seemed to really work, but I couldn't figure out what TPF was! What is it and where can I get some!!
thanks!!! |

TPF would be ThePersonalFormulator.com I think. They do carry a mango butter. Another thing that might work, depending on what this is, is a moisturiser with Tea Tree Oil in it.
Btw, not having read the other thread, it sounds like it could be a number of things (dermatitis, eczema, etc). Have you seen a Dr or derm about this? |

Hello,
I have recently tried the lubriderm shea butter product and it has been helpful. I tried aveeno brand lotion on my arms in the past and it didn't help me. Good luck!! |
