I have a lovely palette (Sonia Kashuk sp?) but the formula seems too emmolient. I can't get it to look right or even and my eyelids feel sticky. Is it meant to be used alone or as a base?

Any tips would be appreciated! Smile

I'm not sure about the SK cream shadows but I have a bunch of Stila ones and I apply with my finger or with a taklon brush (or a lip brush). They sticky afterwards though so I gather there might be a significant texture difference.

Is what you have a cream shadow or an eye gloss?

i have used cream eyeshadows that have that sort of texture and i just gave up in the end because they would crease, and using them as a base was no good either because the powder eye shadow just sticks to it so that you can't blend it afterwards. But the mac paints are brilliant, they don't crease, they last all day and they are quite easy to blend, you just have to do it fairly quickly as they set. I usually pat the colour onto my eyelid with my middle finger, spread it above the crease with my index finger and then blend the edges with my ring finger.

I like to start off with a good base like Urban Decay Primer potion then apply the cream eye shadow over the top either with fingers of a good brush...the MAC 252 brush is excellent for both cream and powder eye shadows.
I find if I put a light sweep of powder eye shadow over the top it just sets the cream/emoliant shadow for the rest of the day.

Thank you, ladies. I think the quality of SK cream shadows aren't up to par. It gets good ratings though and her brushes are really nice. I will try a couple more times before giving up.
