I've tried Biotherm which was $30 CA for 4 oz (I think) and was basically glycerin and water. I can mix that home for far less!
I hear good things about the MAC one, I can order that within Canada so it looks promising.
Any DIY recipes? Would the high water content make it tricky to make homemade versions of, I'm thinking it would need a lot of preservative to keep it fresh? |

Hi Lolli!
I really like the PSF "R & R" Toning mist...very refreshing, and I love the cucumber smell!

Oooh, I love PSF!! I'll check it out. Thank you, Mary!
I have to clarify the Biotherm product I used, it was Calming Thermal Spring Spray (I think it's a toner) and it was 5 oz, the website says it's $24, not sure how Shopper's Drug Mart gets away with selling it for $30 plus tax. |

I like the vitamin e spray from the body shop, and also just plain rosewater. I'm very curious about Juice Beauty's spray---has anyone tried it? |

How about JI Hydration Spray? I like using it to set mineral makeup. |

Thalgo Marine Mist is probably my #1
JI hydration spray
Jurlique Rosewater Spray
PSF toners (both of them, even though I'm not a fan of cucumbers) |

I like Dermalogica Multi Active toner and rosewater (not together, of course ) |

oooh, the best the best the best!!!
is...Osea's sea minerals!
ingredients:
Purified Hawaiian Seaweed, Dead Sea Crystals, Amino Acids (L-Lysine and L-Methionine), French Green Algae, Chlorophyll, Aloe VEra, Honey, Glycerin, Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Mucopolysaccharides.
I don;t know about you, but my olivey skin needs as much brightening as it can get, and I end up missing the glowey look that my morning c-serums impart to my skin after a full day's work, so I love spritzing this on in the evening or even before my night cream (it works well with Skinceuticals' Restorative Dry Night Cream)--it keeps me radiant looking all day!
And it is excellent as an after-sun tonic and over makeup. It tingles nicely.
I also have the PSF R&R toner but it feels like cucumber water--nice on the face but Sea Minerals clearly has more active ingredients. |

Kosmea Hydrating Rosewater Mist - I use it as a toner and sometimes throughout the day as a refresher. Just love it. In the summer, I keep one in the fridge and I mist it on, pat slightly and stand in front of a fan, or in a breeze and instantly feel 10 degrees cooler, not to mention how much better my face feels. |

I had great results from the two sample bottles of PSF R&R toner.. i wasn't expecting much because I've never had a toner work wonders for my skin..
But R&R was great.. my skin was always NOT flushed looking after I put it on.. and now that I've run out and redness coming back.. I really know it's the toner doing the job.. |

I loved the JI mister (but I had pump problems)
Jurlique rosewater was a bit heavy for me, but nice.
Thalgo marine mist was nice too (a bit too perfumed)
PSF firming toner would make a nice mist
Natural's Aqua Fruit misting toner is also refreshing and hydrating...
Love SHu Uemura depsea water (but no added hydrators)
As for OSEA - no no no.. dont tell me any more nice things from there. I already spent $100-odd with them this month!!!!!! |

I make my own ... and love it. Making my own allows me to respond to any "whim-of-the-month" additives that I might want to include.
I mix rosewater concentrate with distilled water ... add some vegetable glycerine and HA ... and have even added authentic pearl powder to the mix. The pearl powder has a lot of amino acids.
I sometimes add witch hazel distillate ... sometimes a low concentration of glycolic acid [careful to ensure that the pH is 5 or above so that it acts as a moisturizer] and you can dissolve just about anything in it.
As for preservatives ... if I'm just mixing rosewater concentrate and distilled water ... I don't worry too much about preservatives ... but when I add "actives" I add a little citric acid as a preservative.
The bottle I use holds about 5 ounces ... and doesn't last that long. There's the other advantage of DIY ... it's far less expensive to make ... and if you're worried about "freshness" ... it's not unreasonable to make it regularly.

I love all the Neal's Yard Spritzers, at the moment I have the Zest one and it is so refreshing for the summer.
If you are looking at making up your own as hpjrt suggests add a couple of drops of Rescue Remedy, it adds the perfect 'pick me up' |

I'm starting to think we were separated at birth!
Anyway, I received a free bottle of LRP Thermal Spring water but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with this. It comes out way to fast and hard to be a mister, yet I can't imagine trying to wash my face with it. Has anyone used this before and if so, what the heck is it for?

Wow, what great recs, thank you everyone! PSF looks fabulous and reasonably priced. I like cucumber a lot (I actually have tried this from a sample pack and found it soothing, forgot all about it until now!) I have an aversion to rose scented products for some reason. Even if it's only lightly scented with rose. Osea's look really interesting!
I wonder if Neal's Yard is available in Canada? Rosebud, what is Rescue Remedy??
Isn't the LRP Thermal Spring water mineral water without moisturizers?
hpjrt, your homemade version looks lovely! Would l ascorbic act as a preservative? I have two big containers of it. Where oh where do you get authentic pearl powder?? |

I bring the PSF R+R to the beach and really like it. I also have a rose one that has good ingredients but the small is a bit overwelming to me. |

Wow, so many people are recommending the PSF R & R toner--- it's not too expensive, so I'm really tempted to try it now! |

I discoved that Neal's Yard actually has rescue remedy listed on some of their products. |

Hi Lolli
I got the Authentic Pearl Powder from TKB Trading
http://www.tkbtrading.com
It wasn't very expensive ... so I thought it would be fun to "play" with!
As for preserving, since citric acid is a preservative ... I suppose that l-ascorbic could be as well ... but I'm not an expert on that.
Good luck
Mary
ps ... after I have dissolved the pearl powder in the water, I "filter" it to get any bits that didn't dissolve. That way, there are no "bits" to clog the sprayer. |

Hi Rosebud,
This is too funny. I always have Rescue Remedy on hand ... for the dogs. It's great for dogs who are nervous of thunder storms ... or before travelling by car/plane/whatever.
I used to even have a special bottle of it for me ... it was great for PMS.
I never thought of adding it to my skin care stuff.
How much do you use per, say, 6 ounces?
