Got my med.#3 in and tried it with a brush w/o much luck. Then tried to apply it with a sponge. Color is fabulous, even coverage and covers well, looks great farther away from the mirror. But it shows every pore, line, and looks "heavy" and wrinkley when up close. Any recommendations on the best way to have it go on evenly and more natural? |

Do you have a flat top brush (i.e JI Handi)? A kabuki or a fluffy powder brush might work also.
Could you describe your coloring? I“m trying to find my shade, and it“s been fruitless so far. Is med 3 very pink? |

I do have a flat-top mineral foundation brush. I just can't seem to get it to settle into the pores and lines, so-to-speak.
I have a fair complexion w/ red undertones but the med. #3 is perfect. It has more of a yellow base-tone to it, which is the way I lean in liquid foundation. It is a very blendable color and not pink at all. It also is not too orangey or yellowish, if that helps. I was very apprehensive when I first ordered it, but it is perfect. |

Perhaps...
-Try moving your brush around in circular motions.
-Don't apply too much at one time. Rather,if you need more coverage, apply layers.
-Also, did you apply moisturizer and let it soak totally in before applying your MMU?
-You might also try running your sponge over your face w/out MMU on it to blend in the MMU that is already on your skin.

Thanks-I finally called the True customer rep and that is basically what she said to try. She also suggested working in a circular motion top to bottom, inside to the inner "T" and nose and then sponge dab. She said I did not have to use the water to set it unless I wanted the dewey look. I'll try it agian tommorrow and see if I can do better. Overall the color was great and the coverage was good, although way too much!! My hubby kept looking and finally asked what I had done to face, it was funny. |

I'm so glad you liked the shade, Annie. That's the one the True Cosmetics website person recommended to me, but I thought it looked way too dark and weird a colour for my skin when I saw the swatches on screen.
From what you say, it may well be the right match for me after all. I think I'll probably go ahead and order it from EDS soon.
Best of luck with getting the application right. Definitely best to go with a very small amount at first and build up if necessary.
I use a Jane Iredale Handi brush with great success for my loose powder MMU. Then I use a flocked sponge to gently buff the powder in, which gives a very natural look. |
