Reason I ask is; I have dark brown splotches (for lack of a better word) down both sides of my neck, that Retin A does almost nothing for.

For the past few weeks, I've been using the Vit C serum on my face and neck, as well being faithful with sunblock. To my surprise, I noticed a couple of days ago, these blotches have faded, into more of a yellowy lighter tone. It's easier to cover with makeup.

Although it may just be the fact that I use sunblock all the time, and the Retin A can work better, or a combination of the Vit. C and the sunscreen.

Any thoughts on this? Smile Regardless, I'm happy this is happening.

you are spot on, vit. c does help break down pigmentation, retinol speeds up exfoliation, so together they will work better.

Hmm...I ve been using vitamin C for months and it's never had this effect Sad .

Or maybe my pigmentation would just be much worse than it is now if I hadn't been using it Laughing !

I noticed this "lightening" effect after I started using ISC Pro-Heal. I'm certain it's because it has both Vit.C and Retinol in it. I have never experienced this with any one product before, and although it is happening slowly, I did notice the brightness in the first week or two of use.

I agree with oli_d that using these actives together is what is causing the effect! Very Happy

Yay! Another reason for Proheal to be top of my wish-list right now.

I'm using the DIY one with the KY gel, and it's cheap enough I can use it on my arms, and legs if need be!
