I would think that it depends on the exchange rate back in Canada/US ... will probably help to know the prices of what you're looking for (and avalability, of course!) |

i had a 12 hour stop over in zurich last year and decided to do a bit of shopping, but found that most things were more expensive, from swiss chocolate to swiss watches. a friend wanted to get a longines watch and figured he'd get it from there, seeing it's a swiss watch, but it was actually double the price that you can get it in australia. best bit was spending AUS$60 at McDonalds on 1 large and 1 medium big mac meel, 2 yougurts and 1 bottle of water.

i don't know specifically for skin care products, but i know that most things are NOT cheaper in Switzerland.
in general it is a fairly expensive place to travel, many swiss in basel will do monthly shopping trips to germany because it's cheaper. |

I'm not sure how much German skincare products will be over there, but it's worth looking up Dr Hauschka, Weleda and Lavera to check the price difference if you also like more natural products.
But, yes, generally Switzerland is not one of the cheapest countries in the world, for sure!  |

Switzerland's actually very expensive, even for home-grown products, but swiss chocolate is to die for. See if you can find Weber & Weiss pralines - yummy!!!
Sorry, got sidetracked - Juvedical comes from Switzerland so would certainly be worth trying to find those products there too . |

OK, I am sorry to say this but I hate all of you who are going to Switzerland  Switzerland is totally my FAVORITE country in the world and Zurich my all-time favorite city.
Chocolate is the FIRST thing that comes to mind (are you flying Swiss International? the chocolate they give out on the flight is the MOST heavenly chocolate in the world). Also, if you are going to Lucerne, there is a sweets shop there that does the BEST fruit jellies...
Strangely when I was there I did not find Valmont to be much cheaper, but Cellcosmet is I believe! For example, the gel cleanser is about ChF60 (which is about US$50). You can check the Swiss pricing atwww.cellcosmet-cellmen.com/ (type in delivery country as Switzerland)
The golden rule is to be VERY familiar with the exchange rate (I used to carry a tiny pocket calculator) and also be aware of the best pricing you can get at home for what you want.
Another Swiss brand that sounds very interesting but seems hard to get anywhere is called Hormeta (www.hormeta.ch).. I actually discoverd this line throught the Cellcosmet corporate site (www.cellap.ch) as they are both members of Swiss Guarantee COS.
Hmm, what else.. we found Hermes to be a bit cheaper in Switzerland (got a necktie for hubby).. I bought a beautiful wooden jewelery box at a craftsman's store and some lovely hand-embroided table cloths for the mothers..oh and we actually bought hubby a pair of glasses (as in prescription spectacles) because the frames and lenses were so good there (and 1 hour service). They were expensive and they lasted him 3.5 years - would have been longer but he sat on them last week and demolished them on the spot. 
Mostly we just ATE our way through the country.. very much so on the second trip (which was before I had discovered Cellcosmet). In fact the only thing we bought besides food on that trip was a huge detailed map of the country. |

| My first-ever trip to North America was to Toronto some 11 years back... I had never seen a squirrel before... and I came home with about 2 rolls of film of them. My friend and her parents thought I was insane, but they were nice enough to take me to a big park for a walk so I could satisfy my adoration of them. |

| I love squirrels! I come from Scotland where there are still some native red squirrels to be seen, and they are just the cutest thing. I could watch them for hours. |
