I am currently having Decleor facial every 2 or 3 months.

How often you go for a facial?

I start to think about quitting it as I want to save more money to purchase skincare from EDS as it is very tempting here. Laughing

used to be once a month. but now that i joined the forum, I am a little bit more educated about skincare than before. I started using better skincare. Use mask and at home enzyme peel mask, I dont feel the need to have facial so often anymore. Maybe like every 6 weeks or so.

I never have facials - I really don't like them. I would much rather spend the money on good products I can use at home!

I used to have a facial/lactic peel every week. Now that I am a student again I am lucky to have one once every 3 months Sad

On my salary -never! Laughing I'm pretty confident about my knowledge of skincare so I do my own facials. For the price of one salon facial, I could easily buy my own products and have multiple facials.

I don't go for facials now, but when I used to use a lot of Décleor products, I'd get a free facial each time I bought 2 or more items with a certain value. That was definitely a pretty good deal!

I can honestly say I've never had a facial I was crazy about or liked better than something I could do at home. I've had outstanding results from at home face masks and only so so from professional facials. Maybe I just never had the right ones but I certainly had quite a few. The biggest waste of money was at the Aveda concept salon for a facial. It fealt like my face wasn't even washed... it was the worst facial ever.

I suppose I'd take a free facial if it was on offer, although I'd probably want to wash my face and put on my own products afterwards unless they were using stuff I really liked. I'd really be so much happier with a massage though. Now those I love !

I went for a facial a few months ago because I had some seriously congested skin that needed to be extracted. Since I needed so much extracting done, I figured I should let a pro do it. To make a long story short, the aesthetician didn't even bother trying to extract anything, and I ended up paying 60 bucks and then coming home and doing all the hard work myself, so I haven't been since. However, I found a new place that sounds really nice, so maybe I'll try going again...

I only get facials when my skin is going crazy or I decide that I really need a treat. However, last time I went to someone new and specifically asked for extractions because my nose pores were majorly clogged. I could see the blockages in the mirror. When she was finished, she said that I didn't need many extractions. Looking in the mirror that night all those ugly little blockages were still there. I ended up taking care of them myself. I will still get facials from time to time, but not on a regular basis.

My last facial (years ago) was amazing. The esthetician had soothing Enya music in the background and she did an amazing job with the extractions. I would love to go back.

I love this topic!!! AS a person who has had ...challenging skin at certain times in my life as well as having had a ton of facials. As a teenager I had facials once a month. Did they help my acne.....not really. I even used Guinot faithfully. In the last 7 years I used to get facials more or less monthly, and I went to one of the best facialists I could find. It cost me a ton of money and did my skin improve...not overly.

I am trained as an esthetician, and let me tell you I do not get many facials...now anyways. I think when you know which products work well for your skin, you really do not need facials. Facials are very relaxing and the massage is very nice, as well as something you cant really do for yourself. At this point I prefer to put my money into products like IS Clinical which will lasts 5 months as well as dramatically improving my skin!!!!! When I get compliments regularily on how great my skin looks, despite having had acne I realize the choice I have made is a good one.

I would love to have regular facials ... but more for the relaxation pampering aspect of it. I always find afterwards that my face feels like there are too many creams on it ... however, my skin is very soft. I've only ever had three though, the most recent a few weeks back.

I think things like microdermabrasion and peels are maybe more effective than facials (however, that's my own opinion and I'm definitely not an expert). I'd actually like to hear what others think about microdermabrasions and peels. How effective do you think they are in the long run. I thought I'd read somewhere that microdermabrasion thins your skin and now I'm afraid to have any more. What does everyone else think?

I use to get them four times a year. I don't think that the results were better then when I do my facial myself. So, I don't intend to get them anymore.

Thank you gals, guys for your feedback. I may think about cutting it to once or twice a year.

I'd better do the facial myself and spend the money on Valmont Renewing Pack. Bad Grin

Isn't is some kind of benefit in the facial massage included w/ the facial?

This place near me will add on a "blackhead buster" microderm session to the t-zone to any facial--- do you guys think that microderm helps blackheads?

I have facial once a month (an ayurvedic facial). I also use masks and scrubs 2-3 times a week at home.

I'm 31 now...and I've been receiving facials once per month for the last 6 years....

I'm not convinced it did much for my pimples (which I don't really get anymore)...and they haven't done much for my new development of getting these "bumps" which I think is due to dryness...BUT it does leave me with really soft skin.

My understanding is the massage is beneficial for blood circulation and wrinkles (although i sometimes wonder if all the pulling might cause wrinkles).

All I can say, is that my skin (wrinkle wise) looks not bad - I guess I'll never know whether it is because I have asian skin or if it is because of the facials!

i used to go for facials monthly, but didn't think they helped much, so have stopped going so often. Nonetheless, i think it's still good to go like once in 3-6 months, as facials provide a more thorough cleansing and help to get rid of deep-seated dirt in the pores.

I try to have a facial ones in 6-7 weeks, regularly. I need the deep cleansing and I cannot do it the same way at home by myself, also the massage is excellent. It's a regular pampering I like and need (I also found an excellent cosmetician). I agree with somebody's opinion here : once I had an Aveda-treatment which I definitely don't need to have anymore. I'm sure, if you find a treatment you really like you'll want to have it again and again.

love,

Basically I think I need to have facial treatments again because I'm getting old.... Laughing However, those beauticians made me so pissed off sometimes... Mad Some of them like to squeeze my acne and made me feel very painful. So I think this is the only thing makes me don't want to have facial.

I always do facials myself Embarassed I don't like other people playing with my skin, plus I need to use up all the stuff I have at home Laughing Also, I find it quite relaxing to have a DIY facial.
