I've tried everything. I don't know why TendSkin didn't work for me, infact it leaves major scars behind. My legs are covered in these brown scars left from ingrown hair. What else should I try? I did exfoliate and even use a lotion with AHA. Is there something else I can do? Also, does anyone have this experience with tend skin? (or maybe cause after 2 days i pick at the hair ) |

Hello Candice I am prone too. But the tend skin helps me. Also, I got this drugstore sufluf + Salicylic (SP?) soap... And they have calmed down somewhat.
It tends to be overly drying so I put lotion in the morning, but only the Tendskin at nite.
Also, don't pick on the hair! just exfoliate exfoliate
I get my ingrowns from waxing. Do u shave? That would be worse... |

I shaved about a year ago. But i stopped doing anything to my legs (thx god for winter ) But these scars are still there! I wanted to see what other products I should use for hair removal. Maybe it can make my hair thinner so ingrowns won't be as bad. Do you think those hair removal cream is a good idea?
Do you get those brown scars after an ingrown hair as well? What do you do to get rid of them?
Thx |

Last time I shaved was back in High School Prom.. hahaha. Try to opt for waxing, if you can bear the pain
It helps to reduce ingrowns. I've tried delipatory creams... they didn't give me ingrowns as much as shaving, but I was not satisfied because it left the roots there and I can see and feel them. Maybe if you have fine hair in the legs, it would be ok. But they didn't work for me.
*waxing has made my leg hair thinner
I have small scars (like mosquito bites) but they fade in time via the suflur soap. Maybe you can do an Asprin Mask on the legs I've been thinking about that!
I think those brown scars of yours that do not fade still have some hair in them so best to exfoliate! and use BHA like tendskin.. must draw them out... Sometimes I still do pick on the stubborn ones becoz the wound mark disappears, whereas the ingrown hairs don't surface, thus staying dark. IMO, try to encourage them out via BHA, last resort is picking!!! |

Thanks for your suggestions~ I'm going to try waxing again~ I did that 2 summers ago and I love how it stays smooth for weeks~
I checked, those brown spots look just like an ance scar, just more stubborn and never goes away.
Maybe some fake tan would help~ I have very fair skin |

I like PFB Vanish. I use it on the bikini area and it keeps any red bumps from forming. THis product will make your skin dry, so it's important to exfoliate and moisturize as well. You can get it here on EDS! |

Hi
Try to exfoliate you skin atleast twice each week. The most effective way to exfoliate is using a morrocan lofah it removes the dead skin and makes the body feel VERY smooth. I’ve been on laser hair removal for over a year (4 sessions). Since mars this year I haven’t done any sessions for my legs and I’ve been just shaving with an electric lady shave. I would recommend that you use an electric lady shave because it makes a HUGE difference. My legs were very sensitive to razors like Gillette and it gave me ingrown hairs.
1- Shave with an Electric lady shave
2- Exfoliate with a morroccan lofah twice each week and make sure that dead skin comes out.
3- Use Vaseline (petroleum jelly)
4- 2-3 laser sessions if you can afford it (not a must)
The Vaseline made a huge difference for my feet and I usually massage my legs with the leftovers that I have on my hands and knees. My legs feel very very smooth. A friend of mine saw my legs and when she touched them she said that it feels like touching a baby.
It might be the laser too. But I really recommend you to try the above, and if you can afford a couple of laser sessions, because it will make a difference. |

I use tea tree oil when I have an ingrown. It seems to work better for me than any of the products specifically made for ingrowns. I also use epidermix on my freshly waxed areas as soon as any redness or irritation has subsided. It seems to work really well for prevention. |

I ordered samples from PSF and just tried PSF MicroCrystal Resurfacing Cream and PSF Pumpkin Enzyme Peel on my bikini area where I have ugly ingrown hairs and scars and there was a BIG improvement how that area looked aftarwards. The area has not looked that nice I don't remember since when. I recommend trying those 2 products for getting rid of ingrown hairs and scars (Tend Skin has not helped me). The peel might sting but that will go away in about 3 min. I left it on for about 5 min. I also applied Tea Tree oil twice and antibiotic cream, I am not sure if those helped but I definitely saw a big improvement from the PSF products. I will keep using then and hopefully get rid of that ugliness for good. |

I wanted to add that I have tried exfoliating before with different products because everyone says exfoliating helps a lot. However other exfoliating products have only irritated the skin in my bikini area. Only this PSF MicroCrystal Resurfacing Cream has been gentle enough yet effective with my problem. But the pumpkin peel was the key I think. |
