My lips are so dry and chapped. Tried all the blistex and labello drugstore balms out there. Anyone find luck with anything else? |

I've always had good luck with Aquaphor which comes in a big tube. It's the healing ointment stuff. You can get it at Walgreens, Walmart, etc. Here's a link to try a free sample of it (I think US residents only)... it probably won't get to you in time to help with your chap lips now but hey its free...

I have a thing for lip balms. Here are a few of my favs:
Murad Soothing Skin and Lip Therapy--squeeze tube. good for every day...helps keep lips from becoming chapped, dry.
Prescriptives Lip Specialist--creamy, emollient, but non-greasy, formula in a small jar. Does a good job of soothing my lips when they are chapped. Also great to apply before spending time outside on a windy day! Protective and soothing.
Weleda Everon Lip Balm--tube, twist up. I purchased this after reading Sharky's rave review, and I love this--it's quickly becoming my favorite solid, twist up tube lip balm. This has more of a non-oily, moisturizing texture to it that seems to coat and protect lips, rather than sinking in. I love to apply a little of this before lipstick....makes it go on very smooth. This is also very inexpensive, too! Thanks Sharky!
L'Occitane Anti-Drying Lip Balm--twist up, tube. Shea butter, macadamia nut oil, sunflower seed oil are three of the top ingredients, so it has a more "slick" feel to it...sinks into skin. Feels nice on dry lips.
Aquaphor--inexpensive, simple tube of healing emollience.
Origins Cover Your Mouth--simple, small twist up tube. Canola oil and beeswax, SPF 8. Nice size to slip into a pocket when working in the yard this summer!
Neosporin Lip Treatment--for truely chapped, painful lips. I apply this at night, before bed every once in awhile.
Qtica Intense Lip Repair Balm--squeeze tube...very thick, white product. Another good one to apply on chapped lips at night, or during the day when you're not going to be seen! The first time I used this, I ended up with this white outline around my lips that looked like I intentionally applied white lip liner!
Kiehl's #1 and tinted with SPF--squeeze tubes. These have a nice consistency, and are great to apply regularly when out in the sun. (Even though I would hesitate to apply the tinted versions when playing, or working, when a quick peek into a mirror is difficult. Without careful application, the tinted product ends up outside my lip area. But I do like how they look and feel if I can quickly swipe off the excess with a tissue!)
Bobbi Brown Lip Balm, SPF 15--Cute silver tin. The product is hard, and takes me a bit more effort to apply, but feels wonderful once you have it on. Protective.
Clinique Moisture Stick--convenient lipstick tube, moisturizing, but NO SPF.
Will not repurchase:
Origins Lip Remedy--expensive, non-moisturizing. It claims to be moisturizing, but it actually made my lips more dry. I would not even apply this to healthy, non-chapped lips!
Bath and Body Works Le Couvent des Minimes Nutritive Lip Balm (Honey & Shea)-- Grainy. Messy. Felt awlful on my lips and my finger, after applying. (yuk) |

Usually I use Chapstick. However, recently I picked up MAC Lip Conditioner SPF15 and it feels really nice on your lips. I have the clear version, but it comes in different colours. It has a really nice vanilla scent to it ... yummmm! |

Definately Dr H lip balm. It smells funny at first (of burnt herbs I think), but its hands down one of my all time favourites. |

This isn't fancy at all--but with skiing, sailing and scuba diving, I've found that regular old Blistex-Lip Medex is the only thing that works. I hate Chapstick and even regualr Blistex, but their Lip Medex in the blue tin, is the best.
I usually slather on a ton right before bed--it tingles too! |

My favorites are the Aquaphor and Kiehl's #1. No fragrances but they protect and keep my lips soft.
I've also got a pot of the La Mer Lip Balm which is ok but nothing special. It's mint-flavored and has a cooling tingle. The balm is a light mint-green color which I like but not reason enough to re-purchase. Luckily it was a gift. |

My lips were CRACKED and even cut this winter, they were so dry they HURT. I used Dermadoctor POUTlandish and Viola! Smooth lips again. I just use it once in awhile now. CityLips moisturzes AND keeps my lips plump now.
Dermadoctor.com gives free samples of it. Make sure you get CLEAR though. |

I'm using mentholatum lipbalm with SPF 15, lavender flavoured =) I really recommend Shiseido Water in Lip balm because it's ultra moisturizing not greasy at all! It's tasteless and wonderfully light as well. I bought mine in Hong Kong but you can purchase it in canada as well! |
