Okay, so I went to Sally's yesterday to buy the Aqualust leave-in hair conditioner that PhoebesMeow so graciously pointed out and I went ahead and bought the shampoo and conditioner as well, so I wanted to add my reviews even though I've only used it once so far. I should mention that my hair is fairly long (mid-back) and each hair is of medium density but I have thick hair since I have a ton of it. My hair is also naturally curly (like a perm) but since I only wear it straight it is always pretty dry and often frizzy, particularly at the roots.
Aquelle Marine Therapy Shampoo/Conditioner - I'm doing one review on both since they seemed to be pretty similar, at least to me. Both products seemed pretty thin in consistency and I thought they were going to be drying on my hair since I didn't get the thick, creamy, moisturizing feel from them. I'm sure they do completely different things, but the only difference I could really tell between the two was scent and a slight color difference. The shampoo scent was much milder than the conditioner. They have a clean smell to them but I something about it I don't really care for. It kind of smells cheap and I think that's why. However, after I've dried my hair I don't smell much at all, which can be good or bad depending upon what you like. I felt that both did a good job on cleaning my hair.
Aquelle Aqualust Marine Therapy Lusterizer - After I towel-dried my hair I applied about a teaspoon of this to my hair and combed it through. It did help to detangle, but so far I still wasn't that impressed with this line, it was just okay. This product has a similar scent to the others but pretty mild and again I don't notice much of a scent today. It was difficult to keep from using my Frederick Fekkai Glossing Cream but I resisted. So I dried my hair, looked it over, but since my hair isn't all that smooth from just drying, I didn't see any miracle just yet.
Now to the RAVE! I woke up this morning and even though my hair was in a sloppy bun I could already see how much shinier my hair was. After smoothing it a bit with my curling iron, I have to say that I have finally achieved the "virgin" hair look! My hair is soooo shiny and healthy looking today, I just love it! My root frizzies have vanished as well! And I'm really excited to use this on my trip to Mexico so that I keep my new highlights protected from the sun. At only around $4.50 for each product, this is definitely a HUGE winner for me. I'll have to give it a few go's before I'll stamp it as HG, but it's definitely on it's way! Thanks PhoebesMeow!!! |

Yes I really think it is the Aqualust Lusterizer alone that does the work. I tried the conditioner but not the shampoo.... but I am SOOO in love with the Lusterizer. Don't be afraid to use a little of it on DRY hair. That's what I do, on the ends especially if they aren't in the best shape. Then again I have extremely thick long hair that can tolerate product on dry hair. This is the best product I have found for the price and the sun protection is great since before this product I used to always forget to put sun protection on my hair. |
